This morning search isn't working for me - and posts made are not showing up. Don't know if this thread will show - but anyone else notice problems on the WF?

If there's a glitch it can hopefully be caught and fixed before it gets worse.

One of my posts took a few hours to appear.

Looks like the same problem we used to have occasionally. The indexes weren't syncing, so posts and PMs were made properly but weren't showing up.

I also noticed that the "viewing count" for the main forum and WSO sections were skewed. At first they didn't appear at all, and now they look like they're 10 times higher than what I've seen these last few days.

Thanks Kay and all for bringing this up. I'm seeing a number of duplicate replies on some threads as well, appears that the reply function is working, but just not appearing immediately like usual. We are investigating this as a high priority.

I submitted a new WSO thread 2 days ago, has yet to be approved.

Also when using Chrome this morning, logging on did NOT take, ie, I got the message

    Thank you for logging in,

    (ie no name).

    that part is working now...

      Barb,

The WSO approval thing is different. No idea if that's a normal time frame or if the holidays had any impact.

The post problem I understand, at least in general terms.

All posts and PMs made from just before 10 AM eastern this morning until right around 4 PM were entered into the database normally. The indexes just didn't show them. At some point just before or at 4 this afternoon, the indexing problem was addressed, and all those posts and PMs showed up all at once.

I don't know for sure that the cause is the same as we used to se, but the symptoms are an exact match.

I was having problems logging in this morning but I viewed it as a possible good thing.
I use roboform to automatically log me in to whatever site I'm going to.
This morning the log in wouldn't take so I had to manually log in. My first thought was, what a great way to decrease spam from bots.
