Greetings,

I was just about to hit the 'Buy' button at Amazon on a 80" HD 3D Smart TV. Then I saw something that will prevent me from ever buying any TV, ever again. If I can't have this, I'll stick with what I already have.

There is such a thing as having too much money. :-)

Cheers. - Frank

P.S. The reviews are priceless, for lack of a better word.

The reviews are better than making fun of Joesph.

    Is it wall-mountable? Oct 28, 2014
It is Great Wall mountabe per the manufacturer. I cannot comment on a typical home wall as I sold mine to buy the TV.

MAN, this is like the THIRD TIME this week I have been ASTOUNDED by the price! For a price like that, I would want at least TWELVE 3d glasses(they give you 2), at least TWELVE NICE seats(they don't give ANY), FULL SURROUND THEATRE QUALITY sound(N/A), PROJECTION with drop down screen.(N/A), a FULL BAR, design and installation, and possibly MORE.

I forget what the last thing I saw was, but it was about as bad as this.

And what was the FIRST? OH, you have GOT to hear this! I am NOT kidding! IMAGINE a smart phone with NO phone, and somehow improved audio quality. GOT IT? OK, that is about what this product is like apparently! The PRICE? $1200 USD!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH MAN, this is SCARY! I tried to find it on amazon, and found a WHOLE bunch of devices like THIS:

    Amazon.com : Sony TCM-500DV Standard Cassette...Amazon.com : Sony TCM-500DV Standard Cassette...
WHAT is going on here? Did we start the hyper inflation?

Sometimes it's an amusing diversion to pick a category and sort things from high to low, just for the WTF? moments

$120K for a TV - sign me up, lol!

The reviews definitely are hilarious - here's the first one:

I was able to purchase this amazing television with an FHA loan (30 year fixed-rate w/ 4.25% APR) and only 3.5% down. This is, hands down, the best decision I've ever made. And the box it came in is incredibly roomy too, which is a huge bonus, because I live in it now.
      And a couple more:

Had the choice of buying this tv or not marrying my fiance of 6 years and returning her ring. Well the tv does what i tell it to and mutes when its being too loud. Im happy with my decision.
My neighbour, Frank, bought one of these. It's great, I can watch the Simpsons from 30 blocks away. The only con is it makes Robert De Niro's mole about ten feet wide.

I wouldn't go near the curved tv, seriously dumb idea!

This one will end up under the bed with the dusty exercise equipment and the packet of chips which disappeared years ago!

        Well, l large bed!

That was funny. I have scrutinized the curved tvs as opposed to the flat ones and yes, their is a slightly more immerse experience but not enough to warrant purchasing one as a must have. I see them not catching on just like 3D has pretty much failed to capture the imagination of people, that is until you dont need the glasses. The wife cannot even see 3d due to her eyes not being able to perceive it.

What does interest me though is these tvs that have nearly 4 times the resolution as 1080p. And, the ability to upscale an existing picture. Their prices are plummeting already and you can already get a 28 inch computer monitor that does it for $599.00. Only Netflix at the moment provides some streaming of a few shows that provide the full resolution. It is not currently broadcastable via sat or cable. High compression of the data is used by Netflix over the net and it gets decoded by the tv to view.

A friend of mine is actually buying a curved TV. Apparently he got a great deal with 4 years interest free terms. The TV is costing him around $5k. Not bad if you have the spare change and want something that fancy.
