First game in charge and the scoreline is unbelievable.

Crystal Palace 2 Tottenham 1

How does he do it?

Well, he goes to a lot of séances, and he's in touch there with the spirits of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, isn't he?

Unbelievable? You're unbelievable for saying the scoreline is unbelievable.

Palace were at home. They won by a SINGLE goal. Tottenham are not a top four side.

When they've won 6 or 7 on the bounce, and if (big if) they finish mid-table, THEN come back and tell us it's unbelievable.

As for Pardew . . he's been nothing more than average at best with every club he's been at, so don't get your hopes up too high or you're going to be mighty disappointed. His Premier League management record covering 230 games "boasts" a distinctly less than average win rate of 37% of games. He was sacked at West Ham, got Charlton relegated, did nothing for Southampton, and had Newcastle going up and down the table like a faulty elevator. The sum total of his achievements as a manager over 15 years is 2 promotions and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Wow.

Talk about getting excited over nothing.

Oh My!... I beg to differ!
And I leave the thread there.

9 times out of 10 (or at least that's how it seems) when a new manager comes in the team always seem to play better in the first game. I don't rate Alan Pardew and think he's a bit of a knob to be honest but I hope he turns it around for Palace.
