        It does nothing. I'm surprised the media explains it so poorly.

        That's like adding a 2nd phone on the same line so your spouse can't listen in on your calls.

        You can hide the phone and use it only while locked in the bathroom all you want, your partner can still pick up the kitchen extension and listen in.

    This will ONLY work at the two ends, and ONLY if they use logic/routing products that are not polluted by various code sets or ideas. Such potential weak points include switches, routers, repeaters, wifi, computers, OS systems, cellular systems, etc... I think the biggest producers of all those things are in the US. So GOOD LUCK!
