I remember, 5 or 6 years ago when Simon was one of the judges how fun it was when they had serious people come on only to be horribly wrong and often time embarrassing acts.

And Simon would lay into them.

Now, Idol has really done away with almost ALL the William Hung Acts and pants to the ground acts.

I miss the fun and the rolling of the eyes. Too serious anymore

Yeah Season 4 with Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice was my fav season. It had Simon in top form as well. And Paula Abdul.

    Remember this?

Well, I never really tried to see it BUT, as I recall, it first was a serious deal, with OK or good acts. THEN they started showing some of the dreck.

The bad stuff may be kind of funny, but I would rather watch a show where the people might have a chance or something. You know, where even the BAD acts seem to view themselves reasonably and might be acts some day.

I think they've done well to come back from a disastrous season a couple years ago. I was surprised the show wasn't canceled after the season with Mariah Carey and nicki Minaj...that was bad.

I like these judges. You may not have some of the weirder acts getting through but at least what gets through has some talent. Liked seeing Adam Lambert on there as a fill-in judge ...the year he won was the first time I had ever seen Idol.
