So here in the Ling Family, we've seen Big Hero 6 approximately 472 times (okay 4) and I have to admit.... its one of the most powerful movies I've ever seen.

There's a great Tumblr blog over at

Big Hero 6 Fan Hub

where there's currently a fan-art contest going on.

*so* powerful.

What did you think of the movie? Or was there any other movie that truly affected you instead?

I haven't seen that movie, at least not yet, but it looks interesting. I have seen so many, it is hard to pick. My favorites are ones like the karate kid series, or the harry potter series,FireStarter, MANY of those that Arnold Swartzenegger was in, etc...., where the protagonist seems like one destined for mediocrity, and bullied and all and ends up being the one to save the day, or at least getting even. Of course, I like ones where the protagonist is one that is simply an underdog, expected to lose, and ends up saving the day, like the die hard series.

I don't think it is a coincidence that MOST in this area tend to do well. I believe hero6 and frozen would ALSO be in that genre, though I have seen neither of them.

I love that movie, they had a secret message about "angles." Something that would benefit me when creating ads in the future .

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

I thought it was a nice movie, but honestly it did not have much impact on me. And my 11-year-old son hasn't said anything about since we saw it when it was new in theaters, so it apparently hasn't had much lasting impact on him either.

Of course, in all fairness, anything that isn't Minecraft or The Simpsons doesn't have much of a fighting chance of breaking through with him.

One of the most underrated movies along those lines that really has moved me in recent years was Meet the Robinsons. I have no idea why. I don't really identify with the characters or the storyline personally. But it hit home nonetheless as a story really well told about the missing element of family and how far people will go to restore it.

I enjoyed it. My 5 and 6 year olds really loved it.

Not sure about having a huge impact on us.

But will rent it again when it comes out on Redbox
