MAN! Disney came out with a movie that was based on a girl having a girlfriend over(they were both straight, by the way) to use her father's system(He was into making "realistic games with characters to match), and design an android to look and act like the perfect american boy/boyfriend!

The CATCH was they didn't know they were designing the parameters for a real robotic weapon, and the first girls father was working for the US military!

I guess it is good that the guy turned out to be "real" because the first thing it did was email its "life story"(the one the girls created for it) to all in the school, complete with picture and personal details about their relationship.

Another show proposed the idea of a virtual friend! Oh well, they have had virtual pets for a few decades, so I guess this isn't TOO far off.

Something is missing though if the other person doesn't experience the human experience, and have a real personality.

I'm kinda surprised that people would think there's something wrong with being single in this day and age. I'm single by choice and can't imagine under what circumstances I would want to fake having a man. Is this something a woman would do for security online?

Joe - what happens when you start to need to make "live" appearances? Um......you can fake a personality long enough to hold a seminar, etc., but plastic surgery is really, really drastic to have to follow up to avoid getting a name as a scam artist.

When I'm in a relationship, I say so and when I wasn't, I also said so. Having a fake boyfriend is about as useless as going on a shopping spree with fake money. How depressing!

Honestly, the only kind of person that I can think of who would actually want this service is perhaps a greasy, pimply faced tween who is being bullied and/or ridiculed by her peers for not having a boyfriend. But obviously she is underage. Is there an age qualification on the site at all?

And if adults do indeed use this, then the condition of our society is much worse than I first suspected. Yikes!!
