I watched Better Call Saul Sun and Mon night. Dynamite. I love it. This will do nicely to fill in the void left by the end of Breaking Bad. The first night was background story, so less exciting but the second night was great.

I think I'm going to love this series. Anyone else?

Yes ,just watched the first one early this morning. Excellent. It could MAYBE pass BB.

Gilligan has this way of Directing that is so poignant. Can't quite put my finger on it.

But the filming is something quite unique.

He makes a explosive statement with the most seemingly mundane scenes.

I keep saying to myself "Okay we see the tranquil blue sky and the New Mexico Mountains and a bunch of skaters doing ordinary things so what the Hell is Gilligan going to do next to freak us out at any moment ? " LOL

      Just awesome stuff

Nope, it's too new of a show. It might show up later in the year or next year, but def not on Netflix at this time.

I'm dying to watch it though. Got it recorded and will probably watch it later in the week. I loved Breaking Bad and was bummed when it ended.

My wife and I have all the seasons of Braking Bad, we never watched the series when it was aired. We just got through the episodes where Saul's character was introduced, so we can not wait to watch "Better Call Saul"

I'll say ... I couldn't believe the back stabbing. I love this show. Only one more episode in the first season.

It's been a fun ride since the first episode, but the last four episodes have been great.

Oh YES, I 100% agree. I had some serious doubts that this series would turn out to be a pathetic disaster clinging on to the remnants of Breaking Bad. Two episodes in, I couldn't be more excited about it! The show can definitely stand on its own and help fill the world's TV void left by its predecessor.

I still have to watch last night's episode.

My only complaint about BCS is it moves very slowly. Which is fine except now we are down to the last two episodes and have not picked up any big story arcs.

I can see that there might be some- Mike is obviously very early in his relationship with Saul.

It also doesn't seem to have a series long "big story". It looks like small case-to-case stories that last a few episodes and go away. The "embezzlers" now the "dishonest retirement home".

I think some people (like me) miss the feeling that the series was driving (hurtling) somewhere like BB. This is more like standard episodic television.

The quality and writing are very high but there are far fewer story "payoffs" like there were in BB.

Even the end of the embezzlers story was a very quiet whimper considering the psychotic potential of the wife

      I agree Subie.

But that is one reason why I like BCS. It's subtlety makes it that much more interesting.

Much different than BB and I like it for its own uniqueness.

Iam sure Gilligan will have many, many payoffs in subsequent Seasons.

As viewers, we just have to have patience and we will have to earn it.

In meantime, episodic or not, I do so enjoy the dynamics amongst the different relationships with the Characters.

Its very entertaining for me at least

      great writing

There are only two shows I have to watch the night of airing... this and Walking Dead (BB was another when it was on)

My wife has no patience for shows that require it, which is good because that means I don't have to wait around until she is ready to watch it with me.

This is a storyteller who is planting seeds more quickly than he is harvesting them. That will pay off in seasons to come. And I am very happy to wait and enjoy the journey.

As disturbing as Check's betrayal was, it was totally believable and necessary to fulfill the destiny of Jimmy. I know I can see a plausible roadmap for the near future now in a way that wasn't apparent before last night.

However, I have every confidence that Gilligan will throw more curveballs and keep us guessing. That is what great shows do.

I agree. And also the first revelations of a real direction for the show. The first step in "Saul's" journey.

Too bad it is ending already. I have a feeling Season 2 will have some real meat in the plot and tie into some of the deep foundation they have laid with the first season.

Yeah ... I agree completely. This first season is setting it up for the rest of the seasons and it has moved along and each episode has gotten better. I think it's going to be nearly if not as popular as BB ... I know it's a Do Not Miss for me already.
