You know that 90% of statistics about lifestyle and common milestones are complete bullshit thanks to the internet?
People live much much faster nowadays and information that used to take years to acquire can now be done in drastically less time and some people can experience things such as mid life crisis much much sooner in life.
Also the number of people suffering from panic attacks and mental disorders have tripled since the dawn of the internet as well as depression.

No-one forces you to use the internet. You do have a choice.

When ya see how many people have totally replaced a real social life with online social and never get out and mingle anymore, it's no wonder they're going bonkers. Internet wasn't meant to replace real life. It's only supposed to be a tool. I'd go batshyte, too, if I didn't have my offline life and the only people I associated with were online.

I also heard recently on the news that people, teens in particular, aren't getting enough sleep due to social media, the internet, and electronic devices.

And this lack of sleep is leading into all kinds of health issues.

Doesn't anyone have any willpower anymore?

Amen I could not agree with you more. Some people are addicted to facebook, cell phone, and warriorforum and online dating and etc. Society has become a mess. Sad.

I heard it was 92.3%, but I only found that online so it was probably inaccurate.

What, a teenager has to stay online at all hours!!! How else can she get the latest on Twitter about Angry Cat, and how he almost smiled!

Her friends will be discussing Angry Cat, the next day, and she will be left out!

It will be the end of civilization as we know it, if they didn't know the latest on Angry cat!

Well it was 89.465% on the site I looked at so it must be right.

It's on the binternets, I fail to see what more proof a human needs.

It's the web folks, everyone knows that has to be spot on.

Call me a logician, but if the number of people who die by becoming tangled in their bedsheets correlates with the total revenue generated by US skiing facilities, and the US per capita consumption of cheese correlates with the number of people who die by becoming tangled in their bedsheets, then there has to be a correlation between the US per capita consumption of cheese and the total revenue generated by US skiing facilities. I had long suspected it, but lacked any firm evidence until reading Suzanne's post above. It's hard to understand why one doesn't see more in the media about this compelling societal issue.

That's good news. You can have your mid-life crisis at age 10 - while your parents are there to provide for you....will make for a smoother transition when you are 40 or 50....

The worst thing about the internet is it gives so many people the impression someone gives a crap about what they think....

Hmm, l think that the being strangled in bedsheets is an insurance dodge.

Unless the wife had something to do with it?

I strangled my husband, but l was sleepwalking? Might stand up in court, but kangaroo outfits are an optional extra!

How did you miss this one? People who eat cheese often become constipated, and are quite struck in the middle of the night sometimes with an urgent need to get to a bathroom quickly - which causes panicked thrashing, and thus the entanglement. At ski resorts, hot sandwiches are a staple for chilled skiers coming in for lunch. Hot sandwiches, in the US, usually contain copious amounts of cheese. So if you see the sale of cheese soaring during the colder months - you can bet the ski resorts are experiencing lucrative amounts of new snow. If we were to look further into these statistics, we'd probably find that those dying of bed sheet entanglement most likely had just returned from calcium filled trips to ski resorts.

Being that you are not from the US, I suppose that you couldn't have been expected to understand these facts. I would suppose that Switzerland and BC Canada statistics correlate very closely.

As long as we're throwing out statistics...

    - 7 out of 5 people aren't good with numbers.
    - People are more likely to die in the A.M. or P.M. than any other time.
    - 89% of anything is bigger than the other half.
