The Women With The World's Biggest Hips

The "World's Biggest Hips" is a documentary that's just airing on British TV network, Channel 5. It profiles four women who feel blessed to be broad in the beam, one of whom has a backside that measures 8 feet around. The crazy thing is they actually WANT to be this size and, apparently, many men find it highly attractive

Here's a link to a video and article about it

*WARNING* Contains scenes likely to gross you out. Well, it did me!

They say they like it, because it's easier on their self esteem. Sure, a few guys like it. But it's not healthy, and it's incredibly unattractive to most men, including me.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

Yeah, that goes beyond curvacious. These women have some serious medical issues they must address.

I would be surprised if none of them has diabetes

Big hips seem to be quite an "in" thing now... It is frightening when you read the accounts of women who have died from "butt injections" since they wanted larger hips.

These women have to have huge problems finding clothing to fit. It probably costs them a lot more money to buy what they need.

I've never thought this was attractive on anyone, but hey, that's just my two pennies worth of thought.

I'm with discrat's thinking on the matter as well. These women likely have medical problems that have not or cannot be resolved. And if they don't have it now, diabetes could also be a near future possibility.

Diabetes is a moot issue when you think of the strain that these women are putting on their hearts. My mom was overweight. Part of it was an abnormality in her hormones - but part was her own fault, I hate to have to say. Her heart literally exploded.

Ever see anyone that big over 60? They die young even if diabetes isn't the problem. Let them talk - they don't have too many more years to do so if they don't wake the hell up and do it fast.

The best lesson I ever learned about weight was in physical conditioning in college. The prof had us put a person about my size (around 100 - 115 lbs) on their back and run around the gym. That is what that weight is doing to your heart every day. You put the weight on slow so don't notice - but the strain is there. Try it sometime. It will really make you stop and think twice about what condition you want to strive for.

If there were no other gals around I'd have to work with whatever's available but that's way too much hip for the kid - under normal circumstances. It takes two hands to handle a whopper but...

My mother is 96 and in an assisted living facility - NO ONE there is obese. Why is that doesn't get mentioned by the health pros very often?

Just look around when you are in a crowd. You'll see fat people and old people - but you'll have a hard time finding fat, old people.

As for the big butt club. Maybe if you are built that way it's easier to think of it as an ass-et rather than try to lose it.

"Thin is in, but fat is where it's at!" Remember when we used to hear that?

A few decades ago, I heard an obese woman say that on the Johnny Carson show. There was a heart surgeon on the same show, and the obese woman said "Thin is in, but fat is where it's at!"...to thunderous applause.

And the doctor said something like, "Yeah, Fat's where it's at..until you can't breath, climbing a flight of stairs, or when you're breathing heavy, just sitting there....or when you have a heart attack at fifty. Just keep telling yourself that "fat is where it's at"".

My mother weighed 350 pounds, and was 5 feet two. She was the fattest woman I ever saw, outside of a circus. She started walking with crutches at about 40....and couldn't walk across the room, at about 55 years old. After she died, I was looking at some old photos. I saw her at 18 years old. She was pretty, and healthy, and not overweight.

There is nothing sexy about being grossly overweight. There is nothing fun about losing your breath, just because you started laughing.

Yeah, if you are walking around at 80.... you're not fat.

        This exactly!

A few years back we were invited to a New Years Eve party by a guy hubby worked with. This guy's wife had huge hips and a really long, wide, fat booty, but a tiny waist. Weird!!

Anyway, the Trace Adkins song Honky Tonk Badonkadonk...

came on and she screams, "Whoo Hoo, my song! She danced to it slappin' her fat butt the whole song. Yikes! It wasn't an attractive sight to see, trust me.

I really wanted to tell her that I was quite confident that wasn't the kind of bootie Trace was singing about, but couldn't of course.

        Yech!
