Vernon Adams Jr. was a total stud at the FCS level.... earning the FCS Player of the Year award in 2014... He is moving on to Oregon as a "Graduate Transfer." He will be eligible to play next year...

His numbers were amazing against FCS teams... and solid against "big time" programs.....

While Eastern Washington amassed almost 7,200 yards of offense last season and scored more than 44 points per game — more than anyone else in FCS football — the Eagles' system is quite a bit different than Oregon's. There is some similarity in the passing game but Oregon does a lot more reading of defenders within its scheme. The hardest part of Adams' adjustment, though, figures to be in the terminology. Still, folks around the Ducks program are thrilled for his arrival. They know how quick he is and how willing he is to hang in the pocket under pressure to deliver the ball and not flinch. Plus, they've seen the film of Adams shredding the Ducks’ two archrivals, Washington and Oregon State, the past two seasons; he piled up 11 TDs and zero INTs.

As a huge fan of Oregon football, I hope the kid earns the starting job. He doesn't have the speed of some of the Oregon QBs of the past, but he's mobile and can extend plays.

I just wish he were eligible to make it to Oregon for spring football. He's been banned from using the EWU athleic facilities because Oregon plays Eastern Washington to open the 2015 season. The kid is basically training on his own until he graduates in June.

I think the Ducks could be right back in playoff contention again if he comes in and plays as advertised. I'm not very comfortable with our backups, especially Jeff Lockie.

    Go Ducks!!!

    :-)

Hey Joe, maybe we could send him one of our Heisman-hopeful QB's that we won't be using. Braxton's probably available.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Personally I thought Cardale Jones would have been VERY wise to enter the draft while his stock was high... Eventhough he played very little, they projected him as a third round pick... The money is "good" at that slot... and he would have rode the pine for a few years... with little pressure to perform. If he continues playing this way, he may not even be drafted....

It looks like "Heisman-hopeful QB's" cannot handle the stifling defense of the mighty Northern Illinois Huskies. :-)

        From Fox Sports:

"For a team that seemed to have two great quarterbacks, Ohio State is now searching for one.

Cardale Jones started and threw two interceptions, J.T. Barrett finished and was not much better, but linebacker Darron Lee and Ohio State's defense bailed out the struggling offense and the top-ranked Buckeyes beat Northern Illinois 20-13 on Saturday.

For the second straight week neither quarterback was particularly effective against an opponent Ohio State was expected to blow out. So who starts next week?"

I think the old adage of, "When you have two quarterbacks you don't have one" is at play here. Urban needs to stop trying to play with all of his toys and settle on one so the QB can settle in. It's clear neither one can get a rhythm going knowing that they're one bad play from getting pulled.

I've always felt JT was the right choice. Larger sample size. We'll see what happens.
