Well, if X from company X is some off the street, cold calling salesman without a prior appointment who just wants to burn up the company's executives time trying to sell them shit that they don't want, she is doing what she is getting paid to do.

She doesn't get paid to save YOU time - she saves her boss time.

Obviously. However. She can do that a little bit quicker then they sometimes do

Expecting other people to behave the way you want, is a completely unprofitable point of view.

And complaining about it is equally a waste of time.

Well, you can certainly expedite that next time. Just say I'm X from X and I want to sell your boss some X.

That should expedite the whole filtering process for you.

You were being filtered. She has to ask questions to do that. She did her job, and quite quickly and efficiently if that was the entire conversation. You just didn't understand the process, it seems.

My receptionist is not even in the same state as me. She will take your information, put you on hold, call my office and ask me if I want to talk to you.

If I say yes, she'll patch you through. If I say no, she'll make up a good excuse to get rid of you.

And that is exactly why I pay her good money.
