Greetings. Looks interesting and could light the forum up :-)

Something about implanting genes from something into the human brain. Barely caught the promo.

Tonight at 10 PM on HBO. The series is called 'Vice' - but it's not what you'd think. Critically acclaimed series.

Cheers. - Frank

I hope at least one of our residents bloviators watched that show and would like to reaffirm their opinion that doctors are just out to kill you while making as much money as they can in the process.

Keep eating those herbs and spices. lol

Sounds scary. Whatever happened to stem cell? That sounded more like a good idea than scary. Kinda glad I didn't see this one after your description.

I can't answer that, but my cable provider (Comcast) has it 'on demand."

      It's worth seeking out.

I think it was about viral therapy frank, from what I can see online. Essentially they genetically modify the HIV virus and stop it from effecting humans but has a high efficacy for tumour cells. Viral therapy is not new but the fact that they seem to have acheived it is, apparently they have seen a 90% success rate in trials where the cancer is destroyed (leukemia). Pretty cool stuff but people will be like, they are injecting people with HIV etc... So I'll throw out a face palm now.

Yes, they use HIV, measles and the common cold, and golf ball sized tumors would disappear in as little as 3 days. To see a child be completely cured of leukemia is a very incredible feeling.

The people behind this research are themselves incredulous at what they are seeing. This will be mainstream including FDA approval by next year.

I did not know that there are 300 types of cancer. Scary stuff.

Haven't seen it yet, but it's recorded. I'll watch it this weekend.

Thanks for the link, Butters. I'm watching it now.

      Just watched it.

Real Oncologists, with real clinical trials, and Real science. Real results, and Real roadblocks.......It's a beautiful thing to watch. But what's it doing here?

I've grown so used to reading nonsense here, and watching Youtube videos by schizophrenics......I'm not sure how to react to the real thing. And this looks like the real thing.

Outside of the US and Canada it's just the trailer. Anyway, as I noted above I managed to watch the whole thing on HBO's YT channel, so it's all good.

The video yukon posted above is not viewable outside of the US or Canada either, but you know...

The Daily Motion site (first result in your link) does work from AU though. So it'll probably work from elsewhere as well.

Incredible stuff. Ten years ago anyone talking about curing cancer would be met with universal rolling of the eyes. However in the last few years so many things have come into the pipeline that show REAL promise its no longer unbelievable to use the word cure and cancer in the same sentence.
