Okay... your turn. What's the Most Shocking Thing Your Kids Don't Know About You?

And, if you don't have kids, what's the most shocking thing your friends don't know about you?

This should be fun.

I would have to say it would be that I was engaged to another man before their father.

Claude told me never to tell anyone about his male stripping days at the Y.M.C.A, so true to my word, I shall not elaborate any further. ( don't worry, there is a keyword in this post, and when he reads it, he is hypnotized to forget it's contents.)

          LOL Kay!

I guess I don't have anything quite that shocking in my past, haha!

no kidding! Some things are not for public consumption and some of us really value privacy and discretion - there are already things I have regretted posting in public forums as it is

Impossible. Hubby was my first and last.

Now go lie down, I think you're getting a high fever along with that bowel trouble.

            I rephrased that...

That would be way hard for me to hide from my niece and nephew. It's just impossible to hide.

Of course, I don't have kids - but I can't think of anything I could tell them that would shock them if I did. Maybe my disco era with the satin and stilettos would be out of character enough to be a surprise to them. Almost flunking out of high school after being permanent Dean's list through college. I don't know if any of that falls into the "shocking" category, though.

I felt like I've had a pretty exciting life up until this thread. Now I feel all normal and stuff. Sigh.

I think it would be shocking to your kids that you went to college before you went to high school.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Oh nice. Now I have to pay attention to what I type, too, huh? That's a lot of pressure for a chick that barely made it out of high school, ya think?

I thought about going back to HS but figured I'd melt down being in a whole room of kids every day, so -- college actually was after high school.

          And you?

Looking at that fancy beard I guess it would be that you once went to a fancy dress party as an armpit . . . without having to hire a costume.

Nope . . . I poured a can of motor oil over my head and went as a dipstick. :p

To be honest, for the most part my life has been an open book to my kids.

I've gone thru sooo many character-building thingees.... it would be a shame if they didn't benefit from learning from my mistakes!!

What surprised them the most is the fact they can talk to me about anything and I don't judge; I present both sides of the equation. Sex, drugs, LGBT, politics, racism, cutting, social anxiety, fetishes, bullying, etc.etc.etc.....

There has yet to be a topic they felt uncomfortable approaching me. And some of them, yep.... doozies indeed.
