Went to a Chilli Festival Today, Big Mistake!!!

My Mother was pestering me all week, to take her to this, eventhough it just looked like something for family's. So l reluctantly agreed.

This festival was so bad, that even l was shocked, but it had some natural things against it, and some man made ones, but l thought it would get a laugh here, so here goes....

Yeah, l know, no snow, but plenty of chillis.

Chilli chocolate, chilli sause, chillis that need a health warning and other chilli related stuff. Thankfully the coffee and chocolate biscuit wasn't!

But, this is the main entrance, pretty exciting eh, but it gets better. I won't give names, but it was in Victoria, Australia!

As you can see state of the art displays!!!!

Here is another view about an hour before closing.

And a free mag, they gave me, with an image of where l wish l was, but the coffee helped. The showbag also had some liquid fertilizer, and other thrilling stuff.

I drank this it high winds, (since there wasn't any interior eating facilities) and dodging European wasps.

Apparently a few got stung by these nasty critters, but l double checked my coffee before drinking. No one got carted off trying to eat an Pain of Death chilli, but they were in bad shape!

Another trilling angle, you can see the Wasp, bin on the right, (they loved the bin). And to make things worse, when l looked around for chilli free food, l would get harassed by vendors, (yes, we have hot nuts here, groan).

There was a band there, so that was one plus, out of a lot of minuses. Another minus, was some guy walking around with a mike pushing cheaper stall prices, and generally being a pain in the .....!

I mean speakers were all along the path, and you had to wait for him to shut up to hear anyone, l wanted to beat him senseless with his mike after an hour of this!

This was one of the highlights, being out in the country, with natural, organic fields as far as the eye can see, (well, some is). The red soil is great for grapes as well!

It costs $15 each for entry, as well, groan!

    Hi Shane,

Please remember, when you go to a chilli festival and you hate chilli's, there is always a possibility you may not enjoy it.

I found this out at a local hand craft and knitting festival recently.

I see you got the tickets for an inflated price from a guy you know called Fred Carney.

Next time you see him I'm sure you will be saying: That was a Chilli Con Carney.

Hey, what do you expect, my Ouija boards in for repair.

Considering it was held in Australia, it may have been chili con koala...if so, no wonder there wasn't a big turnout.

No, l like Chilli's, but wouldn't spend $15, to go to this!

I did try the chilli chocolate later on, and eventhough nasty it wasn't very nice. My Mother enjoyed herself, and l got away from being chained to my Laptop, so....

The countryside was nice, but the Festival, P*** Weak, is probably a good description. No, wonder l was being harassed by stallholders!

Well, l overheard a stallholder, who said that someone walked out of the portaloo, and had a "l am scarred for life look on her face", so l avoided those!

        No, not into gardening!

I think that if l ran this, l would close it down! So, probably good that l am not running this!

PS also had to drink some of their water, after the coffee, and l could only handle a few sips before the fluoride, kicked in! Yuck!

I take it your mom is a chili fan? Perhaps she will stick to cooking it at home and not ask you to go with her again. That is, assuming there is an again as the place doesn't look like it was very popular and not earning much.

Yes, my Mother gets a kick out of watching idiots on tv, try to eat nasty ones!

For me it is a bit like childbirth on tv,...thrashed to hell, and not worth watching!

They don't serve chili at the knitting festivals around here.
