Here is the guy to blame for the CAPTCHA box. He invented it.

Some inventors should be stopped!! Now to make an account I have to use a password I don't want because it's filled with caps, numbers, dashes and then I have to re type it because of this guy!! He has caused me so much effort when making accounts I swear I type it right and still wrong!

Someone should CAPTCHA him and put him in a box.

It's dumber than that! It is SUPPOSED to be:an acronym for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart".

But it ISN'T automated! It ISN'T a turing test! And it CAN'T tell computers from humans! Maybe they should have FIRST determined what humans can do that computers can't. If c and l blend into one another well enough, EITHER may determine it is a d and fail. If the lower part of an E is obscured, either may consider it an F and fail. You COULD twist the characters around and maybe have instructions, and humans could succeed nearly 100%, and computers would fail. You could have visual noise, with guidance, and AGAIN have good success. You could ensure a lack of blending, or guide on a rule, with the SAME result!

SMARTER orgs will dictate that oO0 CAN'T be used together unless printed a certain way. They ALSO dictate that Il1 can't be used together unless printed a certain way. They ALSO may exclude things like ,. WHY? Does ANYONE here need an explanation? I can tell you that most captcha guys do.

That's an excellent lecture. Well worth the 30 mins. Thanks.

Ingenious way to figure out a use for time wasted solving CAPTCHAS. And even better to take the same concept and apply it to language learning to build a free platform.

I am using DuoLingo now since watching this video and it really is excellent. Very good lessons and instruction method. Similar in some ways to Rosetta Stone. Some of the audio is not great. I am learning French and soon Russian.
