Where Did This Dog Flu Come From?

What is happening? Does anybody know? I'm calling our vet tomorrow to see if our little pup needs yet one more extra vaccination. She already gets extras and this stuff isn't cheap. Chicago isn't close by, but that doesn't mean whatever is happening can't spread.

I would never take her to a dog park, day care or boarding and she's not allowed to run around by herself. Even though we are not close to Chicago does not mean it couldn't start around here. We are very close to a lot of woods and here, it means there is a lot of wildlife that carries and spreads problems like rabies, ticks, heartworm, etc.

When I got Gracie's annual shots after moving here - my new vet recommended a shot for this disease. He said it's rare most of the time but occurs in pockets and highly contagious

He said it's an annual shot and they've had a few cases here.

It was an inexpensive shot and no reaction so I'd advise everyone to check with their vets about this.
