Hi Guys

I will be going away soon and won't have regular internet access and when I do it will be for short periods so I want to know if there is a way for me to either download or read my emails offline? I currently have email accounts with yahoo, google, hotmail and godaddy. I look forward to getting some advice on this.

Yeah, Win Xp had Outlook Express, Vista had Windows Mail and Windows 7&8 has nothing. You will need Outlook from the office suite or look for free ones online like Thunderbird, https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ any email software that you can download to your PC should work and can be set up to pull in email from multiple places to your desktop reader.

Of course you need a net connection to do this but it means when you have it briefly you can launch the software, download the mail from the different locations and it's there to read at your leisure any time.

PS Thunderbird looks real good now, it just asks for your email addresses, username and passwords and does the rest for you.

I love Thunderbird! I switched over to it a couple of years ago from Outlook because it's so easy to set up.

Wow, a perfect solution, followed by a hearty recommendation and the original OP's not even around to pay homage. :-(

Well, he said he was going away "soon;" doesn't mean he's already left. He might be trying to set up his email or something.

Thank you Ian for that useful suggestion. I'll certainly check out Thunderbird. It sounds ideal.
