Central Air...3 Grand Shot...No Biggie

IM success does have its perks.

Last night our central air went. This morning, I called somebody, they came
over within 20 minutes.

The bill was $2,500 for a new unit. I gave him 3K, $500 as a tip for good
service.

It's going to take a while for the house to get to be "livable" again, but
while Sears was going to make us wait until 8/4 to even get somebody to
come out, having the connections and the money got my air up and
running in less than a day.

The guy told me I didn't have to give him the extra 500, but I insisted.

Think he's not going to be there the second I need him again, if something
else should happen?

The warranty that comes with the unit, 5 years?

He told me not to worry about it. He'd take care of it beyond that point.

The money that came out of our bank account to pay for this was
chump change.

6 years ago, I would have had to stay with a friend or relative because
we wouldn't have been able to afford to have it fixed. We would have
been in deep trouble.

Today, I don't even worry about things like this.

Last year it was the plumbing that went kablewie...$3,000.

It was fixed that same day (different guy)

Actually, the air guy was a referral from the plumber because he said, and
I quote, "They're my best customers so take care of them." Of course I
think it's really my wife that's got 'em hooked. She's such a charmer.

Okay, there is a point to all this.

Working hard for what you want, no matter how much blood and sweat
you have to put into it WILL pay off down the road in more ways than
you can possibly imagine.

Anything goes wrong with our home, and I do mean anything...we don't
have to worry one second about it.

So keep busting your tail. Don't give up. Don't get discouraged.

6 years ago I was broke and in debt up to my ears.

Today I can tip a guy $500 without blinking an eye.
