I just saw it. It took an hour to drive home, and I'm still geeking out. Going to see it again tomorrow.

Spoiler Alert; in the movie, we find out that Dan Riffle isn't important to the plot.

Your absence, was noticed, the reason, was obvious.

What about Ex Machina?, give Ultron a rest for a week?

Riffle is in the deleted scenes on the DVD.

I could have viewed Ultron online on a Torrent stream last Thursday, but chose not to as the quality was not that good and I don't understand Russian anyway

I really want to see Ex Machina. It just hasn't come to a theater close to me.

Riffle's entire life is a series of deleted scenes.

        No you don't.

The movie is awkward, chunky and slow.
That doesn't make the movie bad .... the plot does.

ok, the movie is not really bad per say ... but it was a huge disappointment.

Anyone with half a brain will know the ending of the movie
at the 20 ish min mark ... including the "plot" twist.

I haven't seen the movie, or read a synopsis of the plot. But I'm sure I know what it is.
It was obvious from the first preview I watched. It's the same plot device used in a dozen Twilight Zone shows, am I right?

Gee, that is a bit cruel, he was driving his volvo with optional gun rack, and the weight of all those vacumn cleaners, and antiaircraft machine guns slowed down the car!

Well, the 10 boxes of crusty cream donuts in the back didn't help, (and the Riffle bodybag with optional deodorizer in the boot really didn't help)!

            Now, if you would have said;

Claude's red pick up truck has a gun rack, mudflaps with the silhouette of naked women, a "Jesus loves you" decal, some Chew in the glove compartment, and a dead deer in the back.

You would be describing me to a Tee (shirt).

Saw it. I have to say, I saw the plot twist coming a mile away...and then it was different than I expected.

I thought it was amazing film making. We all like different things. I was amazed at how beautiful the rare outdoor shots were. And the characters were always hinting at some diabolical twist...that...almost...never...came...

Anyway, enough of the highbrow critic stuff (still have not seen it) Does she have a vaggie or not?

I suppose if you have an affair with her and split up you could talk about your Ex Machina.

Really? I don't buy that for one minute.

I agree the outdoor landscapes were a photographers wet dream.
I wonder how much, if any of it, was CGI.

Doesn't really matter - it is what it is and that's beautiful.

The movie kept building up to a big twist...that never really arrived. At least for me.

To me, a great ending would have been that the visitor was the real inventor, and the genius inventor was the next generation android....and the whole thing was testing him.(The guy with the beard).

I was even half expecting a closet door to open, and a version of the Inventor's body would be there.

To me, that would have been a twist.

No spoilers, because that was not the ending.

I did stay through the credits. I thought that was Howard The Duck. Same swagger, same girlish voice....wait, it really was you.

There is no end credits scene, just one at the beginning of the credits.

I thought it was incredible. You'll get a kick out of the very last second of the movie. Some great lines.

Yep, l agree good to great movie, (too many flashback scenes with some of the Avengers, won't say any more) but they could have cut down on one a little more?

At least Stark got his mojo back in this one, and wasn't a sniveling coward again!

But great storyline, even the world domineering sociopath had a few one liners.

Visually breathtaking, and there is a cut scene at the start of the credits, so don't jump out of your seat when the credits start, since you will probably have to sit down again, (l saw one couple do that).

        But, well worth seeing!

    Lemme guess.
Giant robot comes out the woodwork.
Said robot tries to take over world.
Avengers come together. Throws around a few one-liners, destroys a few cities, kills said robot, go their own ways.

    Yawn.

You left out the reason it takes you an hour to drive home isn't because the theatre is a long way away, it's because it's only 10 miles away but you drive at the speed of "old coot", with your right turn signal blinking the entire way.

Nah, he actually did drive to the next town to see it. He's been banned from every cinema in Wooster after the "incident" where he attended at the same time as the local school was on an excursion to see a movie.

Saw the movie this morning. We went to the earliest showing (10:45) and it was sold out. Luckily, we bought our tickets before leaving the house.

Great movie. At least as good as the original. This is the typical Marvel movie and, if you enjoy their formula, you'll love this one.

My only complaint was there had to be 8 or 9 previews. Not 3 or 4, literally 8 or 9, including some DC dreck about a flying rodent taking on an uber mensch. I think I fell asleep during that preview.

You should have come over to AU, dead quiet over here, eventhough it is on every hour!

I saw it at 6.30pm, and only had about 7 people in the theater.

Seems that Aussies are getting tired of the format, l will never get tired of Iron man, and the sexy red head, well as long as l don't have to sit through any more slow flashbacks with guns and learning ballet!

I remember when Attack of the Clones was opening there and called up the Cinemas to see if there were any seats left and they said 'Oh yeah there's plenty'. Strines are too laid back to rush to watch these movies. Laid back or just Brokeback. Probably the latter.

The first time I watched it, on Saturday afternoon, the theater was packed, and it was on every half hour. I went again Sunday at 2PM, and there were maybe 20 people in he theater. The second time, I watched it in 3D.

Blockbuster movies like this get lots of their audience the first night. Afternoon showings are usually pretty sparse. As are 3D showings, after the first weekend.

Usually, we wait a week, because the theater will be mostly empty.

At the Sunday showing, and old couple was sitting behind me, and the guy kept talking about how each superhero was modeled after Jesus, and how the movie fulfills Bible prophesy. I'm not kidding.

Part of me wanted to move seats, but part of me was fascinated by the plasticity of the human mind. And I wanted to see how far he would go, and if he would stop talking.

I think I can equal that. About 15 minutes ago a girl from the other side of the room was over. Star Wars was being discussed. It was found she had not seen any of them. Her quote was: "I don't watch Sifi, It's not Christian" A few years back we all got an email from someone discouraging us from allowing our kids from seeing the children's film: The Golden Compass. Apparently God dies in it. I emailed them back asking them not to send me such emails.

My mom thought the baby doctor, Benjamin Spock, was the same Dr. Spock on Star Trek, so we couldn't watch it. Also, those troll dolls with the Don King hair, were possessed by demons. So, yeah, I've been around some of that.

Hmmm, poor thing, The Matrix did have strong religious connetations, but that is ok, as long as some religious, n..., ahem, strong viewed individual wasn't within earshot!

PS did anyone notice the dodgy scene when someone landed on someones car windscreen, but the car didn't drive erratically of stop, he or she kept driving at a constant speed, (the car behind the truck, with Utrons second half). Since someone or something else was going to land on the same car again?

All the other cars stopped or drive erratically, but not this one, it seemed a bit weak, but they probably got away with it?

No wonder you don't believe in God, l might think twice if l was around, "l stepped on a spider today, so Jesus loves me" crowd!

Weak, he did slice up someone for kicks!

Oh, you mean the hot red head with Dance Ballet til you drop, shoot a few people, flashback one! Yep, not bad!

So you haven't seen any Harry Potter films then!

Or Star Wars after all Darth is satan? Iron Man is probably Satan on a bad day, but l don't care since he is cool!

I watched Captain America smash into a windshield, that was already pre-smashed. I didn't notice it, until the second showing.

I also watched for all the ways they hid that Black Widow was very pregnant. Some CGI, but a lot of staging to hide her tummy.

Black widow pregnant, missed that one, makes the scene with her and the green guy rather ironic!

Glad you noticed the car one, l know that the guy inside may have had a heart attach, etc, but all the other cars slammed on the brakes or drove erratically, but this one kept straight and close to the truck.

If l saw a truck open up its doors in front of me l wouldn't stay a couple of metres away, and maintain speed, especially when the front windscreen got smashed!!!!

It was sloppy, but it is an action movie, so worth risking, for a second smash on the same car!

I have been thinking about it, and am pretty sure that the black widow, fight scenes in the forest were taken from previous Superhero movies, and her calming the green guy down were new scenes!

Claude would know better than l would since he probably has the box set, but it makes sence. Her killing off some bad guys in a forest is pretty much the same as her doing the same thing two series back, when she wasn't pregnant?

Look into it Claude, if you are interested?

It was an entertaining movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was disappointed in the villain Ultron, though. The Avengers get to fight 100s of robots and a weak Ultron, oh boy, I've NEVER seen that before. Aside from having a weak-a** super villan, it was a solid movie.

And I was crushing big time on the Scarlet Witch......groooowwwlllll.

This has really been an interesting movie, talking about artificial intelligence and all. That was ridiculous!

True, and the new artificial intelligence did go online but didn't create Skynet, or anything?
