I remember back in the 1990's watching the TV news & they reported a guy that had been hit by lightening at least twice & was ok on two separate days/months/years. That specific TV news reported his last strike he was playing golf.

I've also read that lightening can strike up to approx. 10 to 15 miles away, so a person doesn't have to be standing in a storm to get hit.

      More info.: Lightning Safety Rules

All thunderstorms produce lightning, by definition. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to the storm to be struck. Move inside. It doesn/t have to be raining yet since lightning can strike 10 to 15 miles away from the rain portion of the storm. These lightning strokes come out of the upper portions of the thunderstorm cloud which extends 5 to 10 miles into the atmosphere.

It rearranges the synapses in your brain, so that your brain becomes about 56 times more efficient. That is, if you get hit by an intelligent lightning which occurs precisely once every 776 years. The ordinary lightning will just kill you.

Perhaps, but I haven't chimed-in, yet. Allow me to gather my thoughts. :-)

The last guy that got hit close to us around here died. It must have been a huge charge because the grass was all blackened as well. I think someone is pretty darn lucky if they survive without awful lasting problems.

I did ... and now I am back. Don't you want to know how the expedition was?

So just talking nonsense is not enough. How about I use a pic of a hot girl, or an ugly one, as my avatar, then? I promise, whichever avatar I use, it will be a picture taken by my mother with my own camera and I'll own the copyright. LOL.
P.S. I miss Tim N. Is he coming back?

I think if a poll were taken, the majority by a lot would prefer Alexa's presence over yours. But that's the way it goes. Got what you wanted, didn't you?

There was a forest ranger that was struck by lightning something like 6 or 7 times and survived each time. I believe he committed suicide a few years ago.

Bet 99% who claim to be struck by lightning probably mean the static charge caused by a close lightning hit.

LET'S SEE..... It could range from NOTHING, to becoming a charcoal briquette. USUALLY it is somewhere in the middle and nearer the HOT category. Lightning is knwn for doing some ODD things. Apparently, on Ben franklins famous experiment, he was ACTUALLY trying to prove lightning was electricity and would search out the ground. One of the lesser known inventions he invented was the lightning rod. Prior to that, a storm could burn down a home, etc...

      Allegedly

A few people who make their living as psychics have come forward as saying that they had no abilities until they received a strong electric shock. One very famous one from the UK was Matthew Manning who after receiving a strong shock from a light bulb socket was doing amazing stuff as a spiritual healer.

I dont think I want to test the theory out though.

It does make for a good introduction.

Can you be illegally dead for 20 minutes?

I know a guy who was struck by lightning, a retired Judge called Skip. He was minding his own business in his home (the lightning was obviously not intellegent enough to realize this). It came down the chimney and hit him. He said he literally was knocked across the room. He still suffers from the burns and injuries.

The judge was judged from upstairs perhaps. (perhaps not)

I actually did a plr report on lightning. It was pretty shocking.

Anyway - a lot of people get struck and live - but they have medical problems the rest of their lives. The US alone spends billions a year on survivors. So the polite thing to do if lightning strikes you is to lay down and die.
