Okay, we did comedies. Now let's do dramas.

These are my favorites

1. West Wing
2. 24
3. Lost
4. Touched By An Angel
5. Columbo
6. Star Trek
7. Little House On The Prairie
8. Law & Order
9. Mission Impossible
10. The Fugitive

Some comments.

West Wing for 4 seasons was the best writing ever on TV. After Aaron
Sorkin left, the show was never the same, though still good. The actors
picked up the slack when Sorkin kissed his child goodbye. We're never
going to see writing like this ever again, at least not in my life time.

24, you would think, after 8 seasons would get old. But my wife and I
just agreed that the last season was the best yet. Keifer Southerland was
made for this role and the twists and turns that happen on a weekly
basis make this the most fun thrilled ride still on TV today.

Lost started out innocently enough but has turned into a cult classic.
Some people don't get the show at all, and I can understand that. But
the sci-fi stuff has never more believably interwoven into a show before
that wasn't supposed to be sci-fi. This is one show that, when it goes
off the air after next season, I will be truly sad. I have enjoyed every
second of this one.

Touched By An Angel was without a doubt the best show ever about
what it was about. There wasn't a week that I wasn't crying by the end
of the episode. Romy Downey made the show. Her character was kind and
caring while at the same time, at times, confused about what it was that
her boss wanted. Another show I greatly miss.

Columbo was the first show to ever show you who the killer was and
then show you how Columbo would figure it out. Some of the murders
were so well planned that you were sure he'd never get this one. But he
did. Peter Falk should win some kind of lifetime achievement award for
this role. It's no surprise that he coat is in the Smithsonian somewhere.
One of the greatest characters to ever hit TV.

Star Trek was a dynasty in so many ways. From the original series right
on through to the last, actually pre Captain Kirk days, this concept had
it all. The Next Generation was probably the best of them all, but even
that's arguable. The characters, from Kirk and Spock right down to
Archer and Tripp were classics. They were all flawed, every single last
one of them (yes, even spock) but that's what made them so great. Some
say the series got old towards the end. I disagree. I enjoyed the last one
as much as I did the first.

Little House On The Prairie was the show to watch if you wanted to
just have a good old fashioned cry at the end. The acting was superb
and the writing honest and refreshing. You truly believed that you were
watching events of those times.

Law & Order may finally be done. After 20 seasons, maybe it's about
time. In a day and age where, if a show lasts 10 years that's a small
miracle, it's mind boggling how long this show has gone on. And with
so many cast changes to boot. There isn't one original still with the
series. And yet, no matter who they bring in, the concept keeps things
going. I can't say I'll miss this when it's gone because 20 years is a long
time, but it has been one of the joys of me late evenings since I was
a much younger guy than I am now.

Mission Impossible was just flat out fascinating. Some of their
assignments literally seemed impossible, and yet, somehow, they
managed to pull it off. When Steven Hill left the show after one season
because he wouldn't work on the sabbath, I wondered if anybody could
replace him. And then comes Peter Graves who really made you forget
all about Steven Hill. Just an amazing show with a great story week
after week.

The Fugitive final episode was one of the most watched TV episodes
in TV history. I remember, as a kid, sitting around with my family all
guessing who the killer was. Nobody was really disappointed when it
actually turned out to be the one armed man. We all were just so happy
that Richard Kimball could stop running.

Yeah, I know, I left out a ton of great shows like The Sopranos and
ER and yada, yada, yada. I have no doubt that the lists to follow will
make me remember some great shows that will probably be in my top 20
like Combat, Murder She Wrote, Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue (what a
great show that was) so let's have 'em folks.
