pictures from their website etc?

Some clothing company that sells Western clothing wear catered to females took pictures of my gf and her friends while they wore Cowboys hats to the bar...

But now they have their pictures up on their website and even turned the pictures into promotional posters that they use at events etc.

My gf doesnt plan to sue as she doesnt think its worthwhile, but she has asked them to stop using her pictures and to take them down and they havent!

This is in Canada, but just wondering what or how we can force them to remove them (without having to pay hundred$$$ in lawyer fees!)

Please help, thanx!

PS - They arent "bad" pictures, as they are just pictures of them in a bar hanging out, but still it bugs her to know that a company is using her pics without permission

put out a series of press releases telling how disappointed you
are in the unlicensed use of photos. Many PR sites easily
will rank in the top 3 on Google if you use the company name
    in the title.

You'll probably get pissed-off phone call from somebody at the
company for slamming their brand... and then you'll be able
    to negotiate.

Did you see the video "United Breaks Guitars"???

Be a thorn in their side. My bet is they holler and cave-in real
    quick.

I'm not a lawyer so my advice isn't legal at all. It's so easy
for you to generate bad PR for this company it isn't even
funny. You can also write Amazon reviews of their products
and mention their crappy advertising behavior and invasion
    of your family's privacy.

Taking and using someones photo for commercial purposes without a model release is very stupid. They have left themselves in a bad position. Contact a lawyer immediately. Consultations are free. Lawyer fees shouldn't be an issue as they can charge contingency fees, that is, a percentage of your award.

No marketer with half a brain would use a persons photo without a model release. Clobber them.

Your GF can be looking at monetary compensation for the unauthorized used of her image for promotional use. It is worthwhile to go after them...

Looks like a Mom + Pop type organization, they sell the clothes via mobile trailer at events, I almost feel bad for them lol, doubt they know how bad they're setting themselves up for, they do it at every City they go to!
