Creating Links In A PDF Document

I'd appreciate some advice.

I use PDFCreator to create PDF documents from Word files. My problem is that while the hyperlinks work in the Word document they don't work in the pdf file.

From what I've read the only way to do this is to write the full address ie. http://www.mydomain.com/whatever-else-goes-here, but I think you will agree that's not very attractive to a reader

Short of buying the full Adboe package is there any way around this?

    Yes, there is a way.

You can create links like you want using open office writer.

Just go to openoffice.org. and click on the download tab. You can export
your document in pdf format with the type of links you're looking for.

Found the answer It can be done via Google Documents.

Prepare article in Word - or I suppose any other word processor - or do it directly in Google docs. Then select File - Download - ftp and the file opens in pdf format then just save to where ever you want. You can also add images, bookmarks etc. It's all done online and best of all it is FREE!!!

The whole operation is carried out online so you don't have to have un-necessary software on you computer.

IMO the easiest way is with OpenOffice because it converts links automatically when you save the document as a PDF. I've used various methods in the past but this saves me loads of time.

Daniel I had thought of OpenOffice but I've already Office 2003 on my computer and I don't particularly want another large program there taking up loads of my already stretched hard drive.

As a matter of interest what space does OpenOffice take up and can you pick and mix various elements, just like you can buy Word on its own.
