Ride joined NASA in 1978 and became the first American woman in space in 1983. At the age of 32, she still remains the youngest American astronaut to travel to space.

      The First American Woman in Space would have been 61 today (May 26th)
      The wikipedia page you link to says she died at age 61, back in 2012? Surely she would have been 64 on May 26th 2015?
