What type of laptop should I get?

For internet marketting purposes, just standard browsing, blog posting, listing items and website creation etc...

What type of laptops do YOU use? Do you stick with the standard laptops or use the new chromebooks and such?

    Mine is from like 2008 and still works fine for the stuff you mentioned. I don't use it as my primary work station though just because it's a laptop and I'd rather work on desktops.

    I'd venture to guess that just about any dual core laptop with at least 1 gig of ram (preferably 2 though) will be sufficient and can probably be had for fifty bucks on eBay. There is no reason to spend big money on this.

    For the internet marketing, you will need not any specific Laptop. You can use any laptop, which you choose. It is fully depends on your will & ability. Such as today the latest laptop is CORE I 7, if you can buy this laptop, it will be faster than any other previous old model.

    Since its just for IM no fancy graphic cards are needed, I would definitely recommend at least i3, i5 preferred. Brands i like Asus, Dell.

    If you are thinking about a Chromebook, just make sure you understand its limitations. It's not going to run Windows applications. It pretty much will only run anything that is browser based like Google Docs.

    I like mine because it is lightweight, was cheap, and if I need to use any heavier applications while I'm out I can connect to my desktop. I basically use it like a mobile terminal.

    If you do decide to get one, go to the store and ask if they have any returns that are discounted. I know when I got mine a lot of people were returning them because they did not understand their limitations and were surprised when they couldn't run things like Microsoft Office. Best Buy gave me 20% off on one that basically had not been used at all. Dirt cheap.

    I would stay away from the Chromebook.

    It will limit your ability to use specific programs you may want in the future. Examples: Microsoft Office, Sony Vegas, Camtasia, etc..

    On the flip side, I have used a laptop with an Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor (an older one) with 4 GB of RAM, running Ubuntu Linux to do almost everything I need before.

    I think the better question is how much are you comfortable budgeting for your laptop? Faster laptops will make video production faster and easier, if you plan to add video to your marketing.

        ASUS anything in the ROG line that has rear venting with the screen hinge moved forward by about 2 inches.

        ASUS makes the best laptop parts for PC versions not Mac. So, when they decided to enter the laptop market it was a win for consumers.

        If you want Mac then Mac Book Pro.
