A quote from one of my News Letters....

This week's news may be filled with Microsoft, but with the release of Windows 7 and the news coverage that Microsoft is currently receiving, hopefully it is not too much of a surprise. Microsoft has announced that it has hit the Release to Manufactures (RTM) stage in the development of Windows 7, which pretty much means that Microsoft has completed their newest operating system. If all goes according to plan, MSDN and TechNet members will be able to obtain Windows 7 on August 6; Consumers will be able to purchase Windows 7 on October 22.

Alienware, a well-known high end computer brand (owned by Dell), has opened it's first retail outlet inside a Micro Center store in Paterson, New Jersey yesterday. For the occasion, Dell hosted a LAN party and gave away free gifts to customers. Microsoft is also working on opening it's own retail outlets, hiring Lippicott, a retail design consultant firm, to design and concept the retail stores. Designs for the stores include displays for Windows 7, Smartphones, XBox, several Microsoft Surface tables and instructional sessions. There is even plans for a "Windows Guru Bar".

I have Windows 7 beta on my Macbook, it is really pretty nice. MS will finally have a viable competitor to Mac OSX.

It was only a matter of time before they Apple and opened their own stores. A lot of companies borrow ideas from their competitors.

So, were YOU, or M/S the open that made the glaring error above? WHO would put an M/S "o/s" on their MAC?!?!?!?

Happily running Windows 7 on 3 computers for months. I'm especially happy with how it works on my multi-touch touchscreen HP laptop. Not only does Win7 have great touch support built in, but it's much faster than Vista was on the laptop.
