Yes, l have had to put up with press this and that to see a video posted here, (on FF) thankfully it isn't occurring now.

I will also permanently leave FF to not update, at least til it seizes up in a year or so, Flash may never be compatible with FF, but it is better than not being able to see most videos posted here and elsewhere.

I hope that they or someone else has something to replace Flash with FF, but if not, then it is a pretty dumb move!

According to this article, Google has also pulled the plug on Flash:

That is big news but didn't Apple do that a while ago? I love Firefox and I'm sure they are doing what's best. I'm not convinced that Adobe is committed to make a more secure Flash for all.

So what's the most popular alternative to flash?

Yes, exactly, l tried to not use flash a while ago, to stop FF from crashing all the time. It drove me nuts, most videos out there use it!

But you only need to go to tools, - Add ons, to disable the stupid temp one, (that asks you to press two stupid buttons to watch something) and then enable the flash one!

I did that after a search, and FF is pulling like, well you know....

I posted this in the other thread:

I expected this to happen. I verified last night that I had the most recent version of Flash Player. I was still getting warnings and shutoffs.

Cheryl prompted me to check again. Firefox wouldn't even let me attempt to updated via the extensions tab - like it would last night. I went directly to Adobe and updated from there. Now Firefox isn't warning me and Flash is back to "always active."

In case anyone wants to try it themselves, you're looking for Flash version 18.0.0.209.

I'm happy to see it. I have lately kept the task manager open to kill flash processes when they open. I've been on sites that have 4 or 5 of those damned autoplay adverts going at once - and auto-refresh besides. Sometimes there are so many videos on a page that it kills the browser.

Now they just need to bring back the 'turn off javascript' button.

Cool Dan, l will go and update, l still get an annoying button to press even after, disabling the flash alternative crap!

Yes, the sites with full page popup ad's are the worst! Sites like that l usually enable the full screen capture option, to freeze all videos, so l can read it without going ga - ga!

I am totally confused now. I have Flash Player as always activate. Is that right or wrong?

When this issue first started, Firefox had disabled Flash and you could not have it set as "always active." It could only be set to "ask to activate" or something similar.

I updated and the whole issue went away. If you aren't having any problems, then I'd say you're fine.

True, l just updated and so far it is back to nornal, (no stupid, extra buttons to press to watch something)!

Although a bit of a mess to figure out, best not to mess around with trying to find it, just google adobe flash update 18,0,0,209, and download the software, then get rid of FireFox, or the installation won't work!

Then when you have pressed on the installation file, your browser should automatically start.

Phew glad that is over with, pretty funny how this company and that want to bury Flash, when most videos use it!!!!

Seems more likely that FF and other company's put the squeeze on Adobe to get off their, (you know what) and fix it or watch it die?

Not surprising considering Firefox has been crashing for years on end with this pesky attachment!

Well, had the option to update my flash from the Firefox C/P. It seems to have worked, no more warning. However, for some reason my Chrome stopped opening and I managed to uninstall it. Attempted to re-download and install it and it would not do so.

This is on my windows 8.1 laptop. Never had any problems on my 8.1 PC?

OK. I was having some trouble but then for some reason I couldn't even see flash player so I reinstalled it and set to always activate. So now I will see if I have any other issues. Thanks for the tips.
