How many total PM's are AVAILABLE to YOU?

There is an ongoing discussion about the number of available private messages (PM's) available to Members of the Warrior Forum. An admin has stated that this has been raised to 50 for all Members. Some people have stated that they have not yet seen this.

Please fill out the poll above to show how many PM's you are allowed.

To determine this number, select "User CP" in the upper left part of your screen, then "Private Messages". There will be a message in the middle of your screen, just above the colored progress bar, which states, "You have ___ messages stored, of a total ___ allowed."

Thank you!

I read the thread you had your tiff in. This poll isn't going to give you the answer you seek, as there is no mechanism to separate War Room members (who definitely have at least 50) and non-War Room members (who might have 50, might have 10).

    Try again.

I understand. I intentionally made this very simple. I'm not trying to make that distinction. The assertion was made that everyone should have at least 50. If a significant number of people answer that they have less than that, then there is a general problem.

Fair point, didn't look at it from that angle. My bad.

A Moderator posted in the other thread:

The increase to 50 messages in the PM folder should be across all non War Room users. It seems that for some reason your PM box is inaccurately showing the correct number of messages being stored in your account. Please send a ticket to Help Desk Support and include a screenshot so we can investigate.
That's a pretty clear answer - and if I had 10 messages and thought I should have 50 - I'd contact the help desk.

Of course. But a concern here is that only a few people (relatively) might be aware that they actually should have more, and so the number of reports would be low. In other words, if you're used to struggling with ten for months, without anything else to alert you, you'd simply continue to go on doing the same thing, deleting everything every few days, and so on.

Same here. I just emptied my inbox and realized it has taken around 3 years to accumulate 39 of them. The last two pm's I received where spam anyways.

Same here. Although some are from friends...most are offers that I either ignore, or report.

I have a feeling that members that post in the Offline Forum, get the bulk of these.

I don't know if you have gotten a scam offer like this but I got one asking me to fork up $400 advertising and in return I would get the profit share from the generated revenue.

As you're a registered member and not a War Room member, how many PM's do you have, 10 or 50 messages?

I contacted the Help Desk as recommended.

They suggested trying sending out a PM to a user and also try toggling the Inbox/Sent Items toolbar to see if the PM box updates. I did that, but the PM box still only has 10 messages.

Im told they are forwarding it to the Engineering Team for further review and an update will be provided once a resolution is worked out.

Personally, I have 100, but I got in during the period where Alan was (quite effectively, ahem) deterring spam, et. al., by charging a nominal fee just to walk in the door.

And that's my concern, that there may be many thousands like you, only they don't even know to complain.

If Engineering really cared, they'd simply run a query across the database to upgrade anyone who has a limit under 50, rather than wasting their own resources doing this one at a time.

One consequence of a mod moving this thread from the Main subforum to here is that (I strongly suspect) that many more people that participate in the OT subforum are (or were?) War Room members, and thus have a 500 limit. Thus, the poll results are naturally skewed. I was hoping to find that more than one person responding to the poll still had 10, but as of now, it's still essentially an unknown.

Again, the WF Engineering group could easily run a scan across the entire Membership to answer (and resolve!) such questions.

        update-

Still only 10 PM's are available. It's been 6 days now.

I can't be the only non War room member with only 10 PMs?

I regularly delete my pms. There's only one or two that I've kept for any real length of time. One is from a guy that read one of my ebooks and called me a genius - I really need to print and frame it so I can delete it. I like to read it again when I feel stupid. LOL.

I always figured that saving a lot of pms could slow down the forum so have always kept my box cleaned out. The only time it really was hard to contain was during fund raisers.

For clarity, I just edited my original post to stress that I'm looking for the total number of PM's that are available to each person here, total, not the number that happen to be sitting in your inbox and sentbox now.
