Prior to 9/11 US AIRLINE INDUSTRY POLICY was to COMPLY with highjackers 100%!!!!! WHY??? Because the HIGHJACKER usually just wanted transportation, and let the hostages go afterwards!

LIKEWISE, US BANK INDUSTRY POLICY was to comply with highjackers ALMOST 100%. The only deviation being a silent alarm and die pack. WHY??? Because the robbers usually just wanted the money, and let hostages go afterwards. LATER, the diepack would explode, make the currency worthless, and generally die the robbers. The police would then look for the stains.

Chasing after them was breaking procedure, and endangering people.

Good catch Kurt. It's fun to read Steve's posts because it's like watching a George Bush press conference. 8-)

The guy was stupid. While I think its great he had the cahones to go nose to nose with the robber, He bet the lives of everyone in the bank that the person didnt have a gun. Would everyone still think he's a hero if the story had ended with the robber being so enraged that he was questioned that he put a bullet in someone's child?

    FDIC would cover the money
