I don't generally like westerns - but one comes along now and again that are just darned good movies......and this looks like it might be one of them.

Funny - all I could think of when I looked at the woman is "Janice Joplin".

And I think I saw Walton Goggins in that trailer as well. Tarantino's sheer enthusiasm for film is contagious. He's like a distorted Roger Federer on speed.

    Can't wait.

Up until Django Unchained I was never that impressed by any of Tarantino's films. He never seemed to be able to decide on whether they should be art-house or just shoot-em-ups. After Django I've gone back and watched them all again, and now quite like them, except for Inglorious Basterds, which even a masterful performance from Christoph Walz couldn't rescue.

I still wouldn't rate Michael Madsen as a worthy actor either, unless you count playing the same character in every movie he's ever been in as good acting.

Still, I'll put this one on the list of films to see when it comes out.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

I like Madsen - not so much for his acting, more for his screen presence. He reminds me a little of the great Robert Mitchum of whom a critic once wrote: "Mitchum doesn't so much act as point his suit at people".

You can add john Wayne to the same list. No-one in the world could portray John Wayne better than John Wayne, but put him in a different role and he's way out of his depth.

Can you imagine Wayne playing Hamlet?

"Now listen here and listen good, to be or not to be, that is the question, pilgrim".

      It looks like fun.

      Is Batman in it?

      It still looks like fun.

The first one I saw was Resevoir Dogs and I loved it. Then Pulp Fiction which I also loved. Jackie Brown was OK, but the two Kill Bill movies were just way too much over the top. I didn't care for Inglourious Basterds much either, although the killing of Hitler scene is fun to watch again. I loved Django Unchained. His best movie since Pulp Fiction.

Kill Bill was so over the top it reminded me of this Monty Python skit where the gang spoofed Sam Peckinpah.

I walked out of Kill Bill. Didn't realize that was one of his. Sat through pulp fiction but was bored stiff.
