A 2 mile wide comet is on a collision course with this planet say the newspapers and millions of people believe it. that's really going to ruin my plans

Relax, NASA confirms that an apocalyptic asteroid will definitely not hit Earth in September | National Post

I can only assume it's more fun to spread outlandish rumors than to research the truth.

The latest from the Here We Go Again Department: An Internet rumour has gone viral that NASA is covering up information about a giant asteroid or comet that’s going to hit the Earth in September, sometime between Sept. 15 and 28.

    Let me be clear: No.

Let me be less clear but more snarky: Go look at a bull facing north. Now walk around to the south side. See what comes out? Yeah, this asteroid impact rumour.
When a "quackpot" starts writing about how he has warned NASA....the koolaid might be tainted.

Laughable to read on about the conspiracy stuff and of the world's elite being safe. If something that size hit the Earth it would be mass extinction, no exceptions.

So - you're saying the ticket I bought for "full protection in an elite-people bunker"...might not be worth the tens of thousands I paid for it?

I thought it was true - I read it on the internet....

It's not any more laughable than much of what we read here...by our own members. And the more amazing thing is, they aren't joking.

I'm having trouble keeping track of what is going to kill us this month. I'm thinking maybe I should make a calendar of apocalypses so I can keep up to date on when we're all going to die next. It's the only "theme" parties I can do anymore - ran out of other ideas years back for anything but holidays, birthdays, etc. so I was limited on spontaneous party themes. Thankfully we were due to be doomed in 2000 and saved my New Year weekend bash. I'm always grateful for a new end date announcement.

Yes, a bit like another imminent disaster; We will be fried by 2100, where is my 1 million dollars for my dodgy research grant into "when are the Palm tree's due to start growing in the Arctic"?

        apocalypses
Should that be apocalypsi for the plural? The way things are going, looks like the plural is going to be as overused as the singular version soon - so might as well get the spelling down.

Of course that spelling is only for discussion purposes. After the first predicted apocalypse FINALLY happens - there won't be a need for any more dire predictions, will there?

When you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Wikipedia has one of these calendars, but I think this one has a few more entries. Although the list for next few years is very boring, mostly just asteroids.

I like Trump - not politically but because he's not boring and he doesn't give a crap about PC.

For now - he's damned good entertainment.

I was a huge fan of Trump (read his books at pretty much the tender age of zilch), and will always greatly admire him as an entrepreneur, but my fondness has been tarnished by his recent manoeuvres (in that area outside of allowed discussion here on WF). Otherwise, I was really just joking above. And you're right - hugely entertaining chap. And mostly in a good way!

WELL, just on the periphery of what is allowed here, I consider him a blow hard. His actions do NOT show him as conservative, and I actually MUSED that something like this would happen. It is the *****THIRD***** time I can recall that a billionare pulled this, and the THIRD time they refused to comply with the one party follow through. I wonder. If the opponent wins NOW, as before, will it happen a SECOND time, adding to four total, THIS time? For those that haven't filled in the blanks, look up ross perot! INTERESTINGLY, the main challenger, in ALL THREE RUNS, had the SAME last name!

And is ANYONE going to mention the legal, religious, conflict, and living arrangements, with marriage and how they may interfere with YKWs real eligibility to be president? I mean she would get his opinions and maybe solicit them, and they are legally and religiously considered a couple. Many marriages speak of "one flesh". And they live together and have been there for so long, and therefore have prior influence and have also been influenced. GRANTED, it has never been mentioned anywhere, but nobody would have ever considered the possibility. After all, the idea of such a case happening even if all were otherwise qualified is unheard of, but they never would have thought of a woman running anyway.

This will amuse you: in Britain, to "trump" means to emit wind from the anus. True story.

His (thing that must not be mentioned) aside, I've enjoyed him immensely over the years. Though, being outside of the U.S quite a bit, my experience of him is limited to a smattering of books, articles, and TV appearances. He could be horrendous for all I know. The Limey is a bit out of the loop, you see. I'm not too aware of Trump the (thing that must not be mentioned); I'm more aware of Trump the writer, the TV presenter, the entrepreneur, and most importantly, the chap with killer hair.
