Anyone else experiencing the old familiar taking forever to execute here in the forum?

Every operation today - start a new thread, post a response, etc is taking a long time - not long enough to time out yet (except sporadically), but I have found that these type of symptoms usually end up with the forum crashing.

None of my other applications are doing this and have both FireFox and Chrome open all day every day - this incudes databases, autoresponder, 2 Gmail accounts, helpdesk - even my bank. (using wireless/turbo speed cable connect)

Do tell -

I have had issues with the site everytime I have logged in. Haven't had any other problems with other sites I visit.

well i am happy to report that it seems to have improved at least today.

half my motive for posting this is that this is part of cyber madness.

your computer will be mean until you mention it to someone.

then your computer will be nice just so you will look stupid and clueless.

anyway keep your fingers crossed that it was just temporary - i mean when you look at this morning over 2700 people were logged in to this forum, you can just imagine the capacity - hardware/connectivity etc, necessary to support it.

I just came from dial-up in an area of WA that they weren't likely to be fixing phone lines - on DSL now, so if it was slow, I sure was the last to notice it.

I was able to click a URL, go get a cup of coffee, smoke most of a cigarette, fix a snack, and seven minutes later the page might just be materializing. More times than not, I timed out trying to get anywhere.

Now suddenly on DSL it's like taking a time machine into the future. It's awesome. I click a URL and there's the page (I'm smoking less).

Now that I can actually connect.....nobody is posting any Youtube stuff that I didn't have the two hours to allow to load before and would still play slow.
I don't have to miss out on the subject any more.

Hey Sal. Glad you are finally off dial-up. I can't think of a worse torture than waiting after each process. I can't believe how many people still use dial-up - with the huge graphics files etc nowadays I don't see how it wouldn't drive someone absolutely nuts.

I don't see that much speed difference between DSL and Cable actually although for my area DSL used to crash constantly - (heard they rewired the neighborhood though now)

I am not sure I like my 3-way Cable modem as it makes no sense for the phone to go down when the internet goes down - (how ya gonna call?) (and my intrusion alarm freaks out if the phone is down, so it is always fun going through the recovery with freaking chirping in the background) the TV never seems to fail though!?

Well the delayed response here in the WF is back this morning - must be just at the time when the most people are online or something. (morning here is God only knows what all the other times are as PDT is way behind everywhere else in the world).

Anyway thought I would bring it up so it would stop as soon as it knows I have told someone.
