Does the face match the personality?

Do you think the way somebody looks usually matches their personality? I emailed somebody a while ago about buying something from them that was apparently for sale. I know what the guy looks like from his blog which I visited before contacting him, and my first thought was that he looks like one of those typical smarmy types. He's just got that face, like the guy that recently upped the price of that drug by 5000 odd percent, the type of face that you just want to slap.

Anyway without boring people with details I'm pretty sure my first impressions were accurate. So do you think you can usually judge a book by it's cover correctly?

No. I think this video explains the issue rather well:

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

But he's still happy to lend his name to relevant products, if not his looks.

It goes great, but I have much less 'front' than I used to have.

Tomorrow is the first day of fall and I am entering Phase 2 of the diet regimen by kicking it up a notch and starting to exercise, daily. I’m starting slowly at first but increasing slightly, every few days. I am also keeping an audio diary as I am going to be writing a book, if I reach my goal. Self-publishing is the wave of the future.

I have not had a cheesesteak since I started Phase One, so after losing 20 pounds, I figured I was due for one before tomorrow. I’ve earned it.

It was perfect. Boneless rib-eye! Ne excuse for a do-over, unfortunately. :-)

I hope that you are all doing very well.

            Frank

P.S. Yes - that is a Yuengling lager in the background. So shoot me. lol

I can't tell anything from a photo. Maybe you can tell a little about someone by watching a minute of conversation with someone else.

    But by a photo? No.

What's interesting to me, is to hear a song, and then find out what the person looks like singing it. Your image of that person may be way off. Or imagining what someone will sound like, by their photo....and then hearing them talk.

I can't count how many times I've been ashamed of myself, because after one glance, I decided someone was going to be mean, or petty, or angry, or selfish.....and as soon as they opened their mouth, they proved me wrong.

Want to be able to judge people accurately? Watch how they treat people that are less powerful than they are; service people, clerks, old people, secretaries, the old guy mowing the lawn. It's the most accurate way I've found to see what's really inside.

I loved it. Anything that makes fun of the way we are.

There is one of the GOP hopefuls that has a face that I dislike. I mean the expressions. And I catch myself judging what he's saying, because he looks so smarmy to me, and his voice is so fake sounding (to me) It isn't accurate, what I'm thinking, so I have to watch it. When I'm reading what he says, it sounds much better.

    We're a funny species.

That is so true and the most precise gauge of character I've found.

It got me thinking actually, not too much but anyway where I used to work about 6 months back there was a new chap that started who's name is Steve. I kept going to call him Gary and I said to him I don't know why I keep going to call you Gary, you just look like a Gary. There was three of us standing there chatting at the time, and the other guy (my brother in law) blurted out a little surprised that he'd also been calling him Gary and he'd told him the same thing.

Of course the face matches the personality. I use a picture of Alfred E Neuman because if I used an actual photo of myself, every gal in the OT Forum (and Claude) would instantly fall head over heels in love (and lust) with me. However I can't hide my angelic personality which shines through in the pearls of wisdom contained in every post I make.

As another example, look at Claude....., on second thoughts DO NOT LOOK AT
CLAUDE, especially on a full stomach.

To an extent, because I think the way you willfully dress and the image you project is a reflection of the social rules you abide to.

But physiology itself? Like frowns and such, ugly vs. non-ugly, no.

Sometimes, and sometimes it's a complete mismatch. Most of us can verify that for ourselves by thinking about people we've dated. The mask is removed over time.

Right you are. Good call. I would just add that accuracy is improved over time. Anyone can have a bad (or good) day that tips the scales in a misleading direction. Consistency over time weeds out the anomalies.
