Hey everyone!

I've missed you all!

I have some time now that the weekend has hit.

Where to start...

A few weeks back (time seems to be such a blur to me as of late) my niece was in a terrible accident and was in ICU with a fractured skull, jaw, cheek, chin and bleeding from her brain.

She was released about 10 days later, as the trickle bleed had stopped. Her first venture out of the house was to go shopping with her oldest daughter. While shopping, she grabbed her head and then passed out.

She was rushed to the hospital, then immediately to another hospital because they discovered she had a brain aneurysm! They found it had slightly ruptured and that it had ruptured 2 weeks prior as well. The exact day of the accident.

Anyway, she's been in ICU slightly sedated and with no visitors allowed as she was to have no stimulation. She was a ticking time bomb so to speak. They didn't want it to burst as that would be fatal. They couldn't go in and do surgery either as it was too agitated.

She is my sister's only child and needless to say, my sister is beside herself and a total wreck!

Okay, my niece was just moved out of ICU and into a private room a couple of days a go and if the aneurysm continues on the same path, with the spasms less and less and with shorter duration, they'll do surgery Friday, Oct. 2nd.

They're going to put in a coil and at least one stent. They won't know if she needs more until they are in.

Scary, scary, scary! All prayers, positive thoughts and energy are much appreciated.

Also, the local business I used to work for contacted me and begged me to come back and supervise. They told me I could choose whatever days and hours I wanted. So I told them Mon thru Fri, 7:30 to 12:30. No afternoons, evenings or weekends and they agreed. I always loved opening for them and now I get to do it all week long!

Again, missed you guys. I'll try to get here a little bit more often too, now that things are settling down and I'm getting used to my new routine.

      Thanks Suzanne!

I really appreciate that. I cannot even tell you how frightened I've been! And my poor sister! I've been going to the hospital after work to give her support. I've been trying to be strong for her and not cry.

I've been a trooper thus far, but every once in awhile, the tears want to flow.

This is complete role reversal for us. She's always been the strong one holding me up. I can only hope I'm being everything for her that she has been for me in the past.

        Hey Terra,

My Prayers go out to your Niece and her Mom as well as your whole family.

        Godspeed to her !

I personally know how delicate this particular medical situation is and how unbelievably frightening is.

I will have a personal prayer/vigil in SS tomorrow, keeping focused on her situation

Sorry to hear this, hope your niece pulls through Terra.

What's this about businesses (plural) you are helping? Is this a sort of agency/consultancy thing? Niced to be head hunted.

Thanks for the well wishes for my niece.

Ha! Not businesses, but a business. It's actually a large retail store. Not only do I supervise, but am also head of customer service. They say their customers loved dealing with me and have been asking about me since I left last November.

I just got an update and they've moved my niece's brain surgery to tomorrow noon rather than Friday.

I'm really on the edge, nervous and scared.

Any and all prayers, positive thoughts and toe and finger crossings are much appreciated!

Thanks for pointing that out, Robert. I didn't read the thread until today and thought Terra's last post was today.

    Terra,

My thoughts are with you, your sister and your niece in this time of crisis. I'm sure she is in the best place to get "fixed." I'm sure you'll soon post that she is ok and coming out of hospital.
    Take care.
