Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

I'd like to have that sign made up and strategically place them here and there.

What do you do if your car starts with a jerk?

    Kick him out.

(Somehow this thread reminded me of that old joke.)

Every time I hear Kurt's name, I'm reminded of that joke.

My Dad said that often when us kids were young. I realized later that it may have been his way of trying
        to teach.

No work, so thought I'd go to the local beach instead - oh, wait....

"A man has been rushed to hospital after a brown snake bite on Queensland's busiest stretch of beach.

The man was sitting in the sand dunes on a quiet area of the Surfers Paradise beach just before 1pm when he was bitten.

Paramedics were called to a lifeguard tower at the corner of Northcliffe Terrace and Clifford Street, just a few hundred metres from the well-known Q1 Building.

Gold Coast City Council lifeguard superintendent Peter Miller said spotting snakes on the beach was "fairly rare" but the reptiles would be more common as summer approached."

The only way a snake will bite anyone is for it to feel threatened or it's provoked, so I doubt very much that the man was just "sitting in the sand".

Sitting. Saw the snake. Panicked and provoked it.

One of my dogs did the reverse. He was probably curled up on his chair on the porch when a bobcat
strolled by. I assume he startled the bobcat because he saw the cat first and hopped off the chair to chase. All I know for sure is that I saw that cat up a tree after I heard a very different soft bark from my dog. Dog and I retreated into the house. Cat got down lickety split and ran the other way. It could have been really bad for my dog.
