New sub forum proposed

Folks, there has been some spirited discussion about starting a new subforum for people who want to announce they are leaving, quitting or rage-quitting. That way, they are focused in one area, and it helps other forums stay on topic. Add any feedback or suggestions related to this discussion.

I really don't see the point. If you want to leave, just leave; this isn't a marriage.

PMing the user you haven't seen in awhile is a way of catching up.

Since the majority of users here choose to be completely anonymous, I don't think we "ought to know what happens to each one of us" at all. There's a thing called Privacy and apparently most people want that. And how do you prove the veracity of assertions? People write utter nonsense and falsehoods on the internet all the time.

"Johnben1444 turned into a meteor and burned up on reentry...so sad..."

    --really?

All it creates is another BS thing to police.

No, the forum does not need a "Goodbye" section.

No, what a user does with their lives is not any business of anyone else.

No, I don't see the other subforums getting "off topic" with anything like this.

While we're at it, we also need a:

    - Sub forum for returning members to announce they're back.
    - Sub forum for returning members who are now under a different username to announce they're back.
    - Sub forum for those still thinking about leaving.
    - Sub forum for those who thought about going but have decided to give it one more chance.
    - Sub forum for existing members to ask where all the other members have gone.
    - Sub forum for new members whose sole reason for joining is to announce their departure.
    - Sub forum for Claude (obviously).

Some of these whiners have no business in a business forum to start with. Look at the last couple of hundred thousand members. Do they actually think they have a snowball's chance in hell of ever making money online? The last one in here with the dying swan song ... upset about two threads. Those were "the straw" that broke the camel's back. lol. He/she needs to put in their application to McDonald's.

They come in here with their barely intelligible posting skills and expect step by step instructions on doing anything at all and gets so offended when they see a couple of sales threads that are a bit "off" that they feel it's necessary to do the big grand goodbye thing.

Leave. Just go. Please. We don't want to know who you are or why you came here or why you don't like it anymore. Just skedaddle.

What we really need, in all seriousness, is an incentive to say what Warrior Forum needs. Two words: affiliate program. We can be all PC and say that information to help WF should be shared because we're all part of one big happy community, and this might be true on other boards, but here I believe an incentive is required. I believe in getting paid for a living.

I've brought this up a number of times and been ignored each time by management. I've suggested an affiliate program for the War Room, the Kindle forum and the High Voltage video forum.

The management has shown nothing but apathy...Ironic considering they have the WSO affiliate platform but don't list their own products.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone on this - especially considering it's you, Kurt. It makes absolute sense to either go the whole hog or, as you suggest, stick to a program for the "War Room, the Kindle forum and the High Voltage video forum."

While we're on the subject of apathy, have you noticed that the spam threads on WF have started showing up in Google? I did mention this to Help Desk but it wasn't addressed. Right now, Big G shows a lot of WF love. But not for much longer if those ranked threads continue.

I would say WF is being attacked (primarily on weekends when it's at it's most vulnerable). If you have pull at WF, I'd do your best to cut through the apathy. I did create a thread about how to limit spam, but it received little response, despite people still moaning about problems that, if they read the thread, were actually addressed with solutions. In other words: instead of moaning, get behind some solutions, or come up with your own (if you feel like being altruistic, of course).

Anyway. They can have the above advice for free. I honestly don't feel compelled to be more helpful, since the help doesn't appear to be appreciated. However, I'm happy sharing the above. If WF goes under, I lose a nice traffic stream, which hurts me as well as them.

The quality of new members is reaching a new low every week.
Can't begin to imagine how much worse it will get when peoples only
incentive for introducing new members is a couple of dollars.
They will be dredging the bowels of the internet for them.

Speaking as someone who's done quite well from the payment of a few bucks to affiliates for new members, albeit in a different industry, I would have to say that I believe it's in WF's best interests. What you'd need is a more in-depth registration process, tighter moderation, and more incentives to actually register in the first place. Whether you lock up all of WF (whole hog approach) or keep it as is and merely receive commission for upgrades (which would likely be the approach they'd take), WF would be better off, IMO. Given the traffic problems here (and the impending big one, I suspect), they could do with some targeted registrations. Right now, you see, there is no incentive to refer. Zero. But if you reward members for "quality registrations," you'd obviously introduce more quality. Why I say all this, though, is beyond me. Mouths can move, but you need ears to hear. Lastly: I do totally agree with you about the rapid decline in member-quality. Absolutely. I think we only disagree on the issue of a commission-based referral system. And truly - it doesn't matter what we think or say to one another: moving mouths, ears not listing. And if they do listen and implement - no payment. And these doughnuts don't pay for themselves!

A forum for people who constantly complain and want to leave is good.

    How about this one.

I know it is a stupid question and probably been asked a million times but I don't have the brains to use the search function to find if anyone posted my question before.

That is the new forum I would like to see.
