Tip: Giving a former member of a boy band your money to invest isn't a good idea.

Ohio votes down legalizing pot for medical, recreational use

Over $25,000,000 just got flushed down the toilet.

They should have given me that $12,000,000 for advertising, granted I would have just run ads for work-at-home-opportunities but hey, at least the ROI would have been better then zero. Maybe even profitable.

I don't think the fact that he was in a boy band had anything to do with Ohio turning down the legal pot vote.

I also don't think the 25mil was wasted. This just means it make take another 25 mil to get the job done.

This brought awareness and support. Next time it's brought up, it will pass. IMO

It will never pass in the form this amendment was written in. It would have given exclusive rights to Nick and a few other wealthy buddies to sell marijuana. It was anti-capitalism. It literally was creating a monopoly for the industry before the industry even existed.

      You didn't see the commercial.

Sorry, I can't find it anywhere but there's some here:

Nick Lachey pro-Issue 3 TV commercial fails to mention that he is an investor in proposed pot site - newsnet5.com Cleveland

      Some information here:

      http://www.buzzfeed.com/amandachicag...igh#.hrAk5mr1E

So what happened? The COMPLETE IDIOTS who produced the media make Nick look like some kind of shark wall street douche bag. Yeah that really helped the campaign out. I'm sure all the people who saw that went right out and voted yes on 3. What a complete waste of money...

Well, an oligopoly technically, but to the voters it didn't make any difference.

Leave it to the Republicans that run the state to come up with the idea that oh hey, let's go on and legalize so long as we lock down any and profits for ourselves and prevent any hint of free market competition in the process.

This is purely a rejection of republican privilege of ownership and in no way reflects the state's view on marijuana.

Of course, next you'll be hearing how Ohio voters have validated the republican party and "rejected medical marijuana" which is of course a complete and blatant lie. They were not given an opportunity to vote on medical marijuana. Nor even on recreational marijuana. What they rejected was the omnibus package of self serving pork it was delivered in.

Yet another brilliant example of the failure of the Republican party to get even the simple things right.

Totally agree. This was presented with a poisoned pill embedded in it. It would be ridiculous for those who are against legalized marijuana to try to claim this as a victory, but they undoubtedly will.

I haven't seen any "victory" comments today - but I think some of the articles about the defeat are spot on.

6 reasons marijuana legalization failed in Ohio

That "mascot" was often on TV here and was sort of creepy. The proponents of this bill often seemed to be tone deaf to how people here think and what they want.

All I heard here in Colorado (I was barely on any news channels yesterday) was the
Republican Governor of Ohio thought it would have been a bad example to set for young
people. I'm pretty sure that was the first few minutes of a local affiliate of one of the three major networks News at 10.
