    It says he put it together in 1970. That is important! Many claim that The 4004 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_4004 ) was the first MPU(CPU on an IC), at least that was commercially viable, in 1971. MOST early PCs were built with its like grandson! The IBM was built of like the son of a 1st cousin to the grandson. The apple I was built from like a distant cousin, that appeared in 1975. The kenbak says it doesn't have an MPU!

    So it isn't so surprising that a lot of computer companies started in the 1970s. When IBM started, they didn't even CONSIDER making anything like a computer. Their first "computer" was a joke by today's standards, and all mechanical. So when IBM first started creating what are today known as computers, they did a good deal of the work themselves with parts they designed.

    I just noticed the names are different for the guy (John Blankenbaker) with the 1971 computer & the guy (Ron Hayward) telling his wife he didn't buy porn.
