So I decided to invest into the future.

... but this doesn't seem to be quite legit.

Basically, you invest $1,000 and get about 200,000 shares which in two years should be worth $1 a piece when the company goes public in 2017.

It's either an opportunity of the century or a well organised high grade scam, because they have already launched the construction of EcoTechnoPark, which will become a centre for certification, testing and improvement of SkyWay technology in the Republic of Belarus.

I was wondering what would make me a bigger fool -- losing $1,000 to a potential scam or losing an opportunity of turning $1000 investment into $200,000?

$1000 to $200,000 in 2 years. Fantastic! Good luck.

I wonder what the SEC equivalent in Belarus (or wherever this is based at) said about this. Lol.

The bigger fool would spend the $1,000.

If you owned a business, and you thought there was a chance that $1,000 would turn into a million... Why would you just let strangers have that money? Wouldn't you invest your own money? That's what banks are for, to borrow money, to invest in your own business.

For every Apple, Microsoft or Google, there are a thousand "good ideas" where "investors" have lost their entire stake.

I put the word investors in quotation marks as a more accurate term for them is gamblers.

Ah - I can imagine you are very bitter over investment after the huge amount you dropped on the vaccuum in space, just to find out later that space is not a vaccuum. Tsk - get over it, man.

First off, the video is disabled, so that may or may not mean anything other than I can't see what you're talking about, just surmize what's going on.

Sounds like any other "penny stock" - but the amount of return makes it sound extremely iffy.

First - did you read the prospectus? Second - "going under construction"? Who are they contracting for the construction? Did you call to make sure the companies/research firms involved are actually involved? Anyone can put out sales lit and even write an impressive prospectus and list everyone they're involved with......doesn't make it true.

As far as what you wrote says about what they are doing - there's a lot of very innovative stuff going on in the market of sustainability. Whole subdivisions are being built around melding ecosystems and renewable energy, organic farming, and techonolgy, etc. Most building plans now consider ecology and technology in their plans.
So you have a solid "genre" for your investment.

The only way YOU will know if it's a good one or not is to call or email the company/organization and ask for a prospectus. If they haven't got one - you've been had. If they do have one - actually call some of the other companies/organizations listed. This size of project would take a lot of them.

As I said it might be a very well thought out scam. This project has been discussed with the Russian ex-president Medvedyev.

    Based on what? Wishful thinking?

As someone who worked for a financial institution doing analyses of publicly listed companies, and now do it on my own, I can tell you right now that anyone who can put a price on what a company's shares are going to be in the future is deluding themselves. And that is based on company's that have been in existence for years and have a well thought out business model and a solid track record of earning a profit.

Three old adages need to be considered here:

    1) The higher the return, the higher the risk
    2) If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
    3) A fool and his money are soon separated.

You seem determined to put your money into this and also seem determined to get someone to tell you it's a good idea.

The second part of that ain't gonna happen. To the best of my knowledge no-one on this forum is qualified or licensed to give financial advice so we're all forbidden by law to give such advice.

In the end, it's your money. If you can safely afford to lose your stake, then do what you will. If you're right you can give yourself a pat on the back. If your money disappears into a Belarussian black hole then consider it an expensive lesson.

I will say no more on this matter.

I agree wholeheartedly. It seems like after seeing you Post here a number of times and after getting a totally rude and uncalled for PM to me the other week from you, you are bent on talking about investments over and over again.

And then you get pissed off when people try to let others know about their own experience and how this stuff (trading futures and Forex) takes years to get good at

You can PM again because I'm sure you will be upset because you are construing what Iam saying as coming down hard on you.

Lol, 99.99% of the rail networks in the US are grandfathered in from the 1800s.

I wrote something about this earlier, but some glitch got rid of it here before I could send it.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!! It tells SO many half truths and lies that you can't believe it. A technology that is apparently BETTER is used in parts of Europe and FORGET the garbage about supporting so mny MORE people, etc..... As for the stock? Chances are it won't even be TRADABLE in the US and western europe!

As for JOBS? He NEVER had all the stock to hold, and WOZ split his part with the employees. Another partner gave the GIGANTIC lions share of the stock HE had to anyone else. Had it all been held by apple, apple would have shut its doors before 1985, and jobs would likely have died a virtual PAUPER, He likely would have been ousted earlier. One requirement for stock to have value is for it to be openly traded at a price SOMEONE feels has value. If a corporation holds it close, it has value only to the degree that someone finds the company interesting and can use it to vote on a major issue. They buy the stock to vote, or take control, and NOT as a direct investment. The stock is even often retired after such a deal, if they get control.

Just came across this thread... I'd love to see some technology that is already used in Europe and is 'better' than what SkyWay is working on.. a lot has happened since these posts came, their demonstration site in Belarus had grown in the last year, first tests had been done on the light track and plenty more coming very soon.
Many projects are already lined up, dealings with Ministers and Delegates from many countries are ongoing (for inst Rod Hook from Australia, now a ceo of SkyWay Australia, Indian ministry for transport, Russia will have numerous tracks built this year already, also Canada, Turkey and others...)
All this is well documented. I doubt scammers would be going through so much effort, employing over 150 engineers, building and developing this technology, visiting many transport expositions worldwide in order to what? steal few hundred millions from naive investors?
Russia has endorsed this technology as an innovative one (this also doesn't happen with some fake projects). Anyway, just a reminder to keep an eye on this one. ;-)
