kudos to WF mods today

I think maybe FL listened to us recently - it's Sunday and the WF is NOT filled with spam. Threads that looked spammy were immediately deleted when reported - and threads going a bit off the rails were locked.

    I don't understand why the thread about France was locked. There was only one person attempting to go off topic, but going off topic has never been against the rules and there were no flames. It was a good discussion about an event that is at the top of most people's thoughts.

    I was wondering about this coming into the weekend and if the survey or recent complaints would make any difference finally. It does seem they listened or the Sunday guy got back from vacation or whatever.

    I also wondered if anyone would post about it if it did change.

    I'm glad both things happened. I hope that FL sees that even though some of us may be seen as negative (snarky and witty) we want things to be better and to be a win-win for all and the only way to get our point across is to post about it.

          It may be awhile. A couple of the regulars have been in there for a long time.

          Even when it re-opens, if I were you I'd be extremely careful where I step and sit.

              Hmm, it went off topic, or got to depressing?

              I read about 5 pages about it in the paper, and that was enough for me.

              So l didnt' really want to discuss it every day?

              Besides in AU, they seem to be playing it day and night!

                Who was forcing you to participate?

                Personally, it seemed like heavy handed moderation to me. It wasn't on a topic that is not allowed and we should be able to discuss it if we wish in Off Topic. No one is forced to read it. I assume that we don't need your approval to discuss a topic.
