Groan, came across this crap and thought that l should post it here?

Boost Your Testosterone for Increased Performance

True, it is better to go blind reading the latest Playboy magazine articles, so you can blow money on this?

Or put the magazine, away and go and take a cold shower????

There seems to be a pill for everything, even stuff that isn't needed?

Ok, that is enough of being serious, l am waiting for the inevitable tidal wave of comebacks!

Not affiliated, blah, blah, just thought it might be good for discussion purposes!
  • Hey, I smoked some testosterone one time.

Got so high, I took my washin' machine apart with tweezers.

Smoked some fungus, probably not a good idea for men?

But a bucket of dark chocolate has the same amount of cocaine in it, to give you a high.

That is if you can eat it all?

Probably explains why l feel good after getting through a particularly, rich Chocolate Moose Cake?

But yeah, pretty silly. The men who think that it is manly to,....um......well, .........., are the ones that would go for this crap?

But there are other herbs that help as well, but this is the most potent one, well that is what they say?

      You Won't Go Blind: Men's Health.com

Here is some more crap,....yes, do it virtually every day, for 2 to 3 years and the average male, will begin to get daily headaches, as well as other degenerative diseases.

But that is ok, just go to your nearest doctor for some of their s***?

Chronic, disease health is good, apparently?

The Chinese have the reverse view?

Don't know about testosterone, but a few weeks ago I started taking a hormone replacement drug for low thyroid condition. Over the past year I had become lethargic, apathetic, always cold, irritable and found it next to impossible to lose weight at the previous pace I had become accustomed to.

I get my blood work done at the VA every three months and the past 3 test results showed a steady decline in my thyroid function. While loathe to take an additional medication, my doctor assured me that it would have beneficial results. He said that after starting me on the lowest dosage, I could expect a mental lift in 4 to 6 weeks and a physical one in 10 to 12 weeks.

After only a week of taking the medication I have notice a very significant improvement in all of my symptoms. That doesn't surprise me as I am hyper-sensitive to all medications. I'm sleeping better and around 2 hours less, per night. I have energy like I have not had in a few years. I'm enthusiastic in dealing with my last remaining client that I'm hanging on to until I keel over and his current projects. I'm actually looking forward to new projects that my head is exploding with. Just like the good ol' days. I'm thrilled, because honestly, I felt as if my life was rapidly drawing to a close

This Thanksgiving I know what I'm going to be grateful for. Excellent VA care, a doctor that pushes me to do the right thing and the incredible marvels of modern medicine.

"Better living through chemistry." That's a credo I have subscribed to since my LSD days in the 60's.

Be careful though. A few more weeks of this medication and I may return to my past level of orneriness. There's something to look forward to. :-)

        Cheers. - Frank

In my case it was like someone threw a a switch and it was straight down hill from there. Very scary, especially for someone with absolutely no intention of ever dying. :-)

Chemical imbalance is the worst kinda ruler.

Break your arm, an' you have immediate evidence.

Get infected, an' your rash shows your doctor what to prescribe.

But when nuthin' is immediately wrong -- nuthin' is wrong.

          Time rolls...along.

          And change...kinda rolls with it.

          Yours, and evrythin' else.

          Until, yeah,

Ok, Frank fair enough, but as you have said, it might lose its effectiveness over time?

If it starts to lose its benefits and the doctor wants to up the dosage, l would look into alternatives?

Doctors aren't going to say that this exercise or this herb will help or fix it, not with a drug company backing them up?

This is similar to Gene therapy. A magic wand, but it is expensive and usually doesn't last!

That's to be expected. It's not really that it loses effectiveness, but that your thyroid will become less productive over time and they increase the dose to compensate and keep things stabilized. All body parts wear out. They generally start everyone on the lowest dose and up it over the years. I'm fine with that, but even at the lowest dosage I feel like I'm on meth compared to a month ago. Not complaining, though.
If it starts to lose its benefits and the doctor wants to up the dosage, l would look into alternatives?
There are none that are proven to be effective. In my world, 'alternatives' is code for voodoo quackery. It's just how I'm built. lol
Doctors aren't going to say that this exercise or this herb will help or fix it, not with a drug company backing them up?
My doctor has already told me that exercise and losing weight would help. If he ever recommended an herb for anything other than putting in my bong or on my pizza, I'd rapidly find another doctor. A VA doctor has absolutely no vested interest in pushing drugs for financial gain. There is simply no gain to be had. They are dedicated to serving veterans and in my experience they always try to do what's right for the patient. While the VA gets a bad rap - it's over getting an appointment. Once a vet is in the system, generally they love and appreciate the care they receive and it's the rare veteran that wants to see the VA privatized. I don't know one that's not vehemently opposed to the concept. Improvements - yes! Privatization - no freakin' way!

Well, I luvs me my free VA healthcare and nothing lasts forever. It's not supposed to. :-)

Two things I'm certain of. The Earth is round and we're all going to die.

            Cheers. - Frank
