No , i'm not talking about how to get on first page of Google. There are places for that. Today marks what seems to be the first of Google advertising on their Front Page , (Star Wars Episode VII release day)
which is arguably the most Prime piece of real estate this whole internet wide!

You can argue whether or not this is paid , but it leads to Star Wars app download. Can anyone Image what this is worth?

Larry Page and Sergy Brin stated they will never put commercial ads on the main page

It opens up a question,

Can Google can be bought?

What do you think? Maybe I'm off here.

    I didn't notice that until you pointed it out.

    I can't tell if it is a paid advert by Disney, or a Google homage to Star Wars.

    I suspect it is in partnership with Disney. But I have seen other Google promos tied to movies/events so it's hard to tell if Google has featured paid content in the past.

    They do try to make it look like it is not paid content.

    Probably they are getting sponsors. I don't think that there is a transaction between them to display the ad, but there might be a partnership to donate to one of Google projects.
