Some people take pride in their desktops - custom themes and the works. This thread is for you to show off your desktops and be the envy or inspiration of your Warrior Forum peers!

So let's hear it and let's see it - post us up some screenshots and/or some specs and let's see what Warrior's are running on.

Personally: I'm using a Toshiba, 8gb RAM, 1tb HDD, Windows 10 - with minimal and vintage black and blue themes through-out.

I think my desktop looks sexy as hell so I'll wait until a few other have posted screenshots before I post mine up, but I will post mine up.

So let's see what ya runnin' on Warrior's.....

We have different definitions of sexy as hell. Desktops don't do it for me.

But hey, statistic I wanna know is alla the math on Depp's head here.

There is a lusho interplay between the way he is rockin' his head back an' the angle on that cigar.

If he gets carried away, he is gonna burn his chin.

My 5 year old machine was more than fast enough, but the issues were stacking up. Video board was on its last legs. Monitors were showing their age (most were 10 year old panels) and my 2550 x 1440 main monitor had died and gone bye bye. When looking at video boards and monitors, it became clear that 4k was the NOW not the future, but Windows 7 was horribly ill prepared for the resolution.

So I built a new one from scratch about 3 months ago. Spread across a 5 year expected life, its not really that expensive. Or so I tell myself.

The video / desktop work space is just OMG stunning. 11,520 x 2160 total resolution.

God damn that's a nice rig!

I used to do the same thing, telling myself it's an investment that's going to pay its worth over the next xyz years...

P.S. I think we have the same cooler. I have an old 2600K OC'ed to 4.3Ghz, it does the job...

There's no envy or inspiration in the OTF, only humor. Who cares anyway.

It's a week to Christmas, and better things to do. Who cares anyway.

Then why not brag on a techie forum instead. Who cares anyway.

I have a big 'puter - with a littler 'puter next to it....couple of screens - one big and another bigger....they are more than enough to do what I need so all's good.

All equipment sits on/around a mission style desk I bought used - price was right and it has character and lots of space. On the floor under the desk is a dog bed where Gracie snoozes while I play with machines.

My desk faces a large window with a view of land and woods. Bird feeders just outside provide activity - and I watch deer graze and play almost daily, too.

For me the best part of my desktop is the dog underneath and the view out the window.

The ultimate system, succinctly defined! It doesn't get any better than that.

If I had to use the mac for anything but UX mockups I'd end up throwing the dog through the window. Even using it just for UX, supposedly what it's best at, I still find the Mac to be horrid. The dog knows not to be around me on those days.

After 31 years, I'm quite happy. We tend to love that with which we are familiar with. To me, a Windoze box is useful only as a boat anchor. :-)

I'd post a screen shot, but really, nobody has the resolution to view it. ;-)

Even if it's not an investment, it's only a $500 / yr expense.

I also picked up new speakers this time around... my old ones were going on 12 years old, and had staticy rheostats and buzzy amps.

I need to pick up a 4k KVM switch so I can plug cheezy macbook air into one of the real monitors when I'm working on ux mockups in Sketch.

If I plug in another 32gb ram and say 12TB of eSATA external NAS storage... with fios 50mbps, I can host an entire C# / Sql Server back end for a pretty heavily adopted app. Images and all.

All I need now is to build a heavily adopted app. lol

ps. sent you a PM about some seo.

I've just recently upgraded and now run the following:

    x286 motherboard
    640k RAM
    40mb hard drive
    10" EGA monitor
    MSDOS3.0 operating system
    14.4k modem.

That should serve my purposes for the next decade or so.
