40 major spam threads in 4 minutes! Different posters - same type of spam - wonder if this is designed as an attack on the WF rather than simple crappy spam. Rather odd the bots would start at the same time, isn't it?

Or - maybe one person launching several bots at once??? Weird.

I don't get why the spammers do that. There doesn't seem to be any benefit.

They aren't full of spammy backlinks and they are too dense and incoherent to be an ad that would actually spur action.... such as calling one of the embedded numbers to rid yourself of black magic.

    So what is the point?

I've asked the same thing myself - but apparentlyt here's some benefit. Hard to believe anyone is stupid enough to click on those links...but then I read some threads and think "that person might do it".

Almost all of this recent bot activity seems to come from India - and maybe it's aimed at people IN India??? Perhaps the growing number of members from that country has led to the growth of spam aimed at them???

It confuses me - but that's not a big mountain to climb....

Yes, cheap traffic, l had one scr** me recently by using a dodgy Credit Card, so that WSO, is gone.

Never had a direct sale, that tried that before, but l had to kill affilates since their traffic source was garbage, (mainly crooks).

I could see where it might be naïveté as opposed to a lack-of-smarts.

        An insightful observation.

        I doubt that's true.

One good thing is it drowns out the idiot answering every thread
with a rather large sig file.

It's most likely a single bot running proxies.

I can't scratch my ear and type at the same time - but a bot can run proxies. That's just wrong.

That's the way most spam bots work (proxies).

Example, just 10 proxies will get a bot 10 unique forum profiles on a single site. Now automate that times thousands of sites & the 10 proxies will build a boat load of links/spam. Granted the links are junk, but hey, someone at fiverr has $5 burning a hole in their pocket.
