Is there a SERIOUS HOLE in Uber's Business Model?

What if its drivers commit crimes like THIS?

What if they commit torts against passengers while in the course of performing services?

Bottom line: Before people buy up the upcoming uber stock for billions of bucks, has the model been "lawyer-proofed"?

You wouldn't want "legal eagles" like the esquire below up your alley!

    UBER has one GLARING NEGLIGENT problem! They expect the users to declare their vehicles honestly, and put their honest pictures and details up. OK MAYBE they do, who knows. They ALSO expect the riders to have EXCELLENT eyesight, perhaps able to see what isn't even displayed, or may be microscopic. Failing that, it must be a relatively quiet street with no obstructions and/or you must know a lot of details about the car.

    REGARDLESS of that, the driver and passenger must converse to try to validate things.

    OH YEAH, this is ALSO made impossible by their HORRIBLE system! About 3 times, uber switched things on me, or apparently shut down an earlier request. So what was I now to look for?

    LUCKILY, UBER wised up to a degree, and at least came out with a KIND of compromise, but they are only trying it in a few areas and it STILL looks too variable, etc..... The idea, IIRC is to have a strip that will go some way against some window and glow one of, IIRC 6 colors.

    TAXIs handle this through labeling, madalion, registration, relationships, numbering, and communication with the passenger. It is a LOT to try to fake and, if they are caught faking it, they can be arrested, have the car impounded, etc...

    As for the business model? They are making the drivers believe they are employees, which could end up really hurting them. They are already being sued over it. Apparently, they are being sued on 3-4 different levels!

    Anyway, UBER drivers CAN abandon a fare, and MAY. What COULD have happened was that the driver cancelled. the passenger wasn't made aware, he got into the wrong car, and was robbed! It is possible that UBER and the driver were innocent though, if I were the judge, I would STILL judge against UBER for being negligent.
