Legal drugs to help with laziness?

I have all the ambition in the world when it comes to working, always have. I also used to have a lot of ambition when it came to doing fun stuff. But over the last few years I find myself becoming lazy when it comes to doing fun stuff (outside of work activities, hobbies, etc.).

For example, I was supposed to go trap shooting with some of my friends last Sunday, and I really enjoy doing it, but I ended up getting lazy and sitting at home binge watching Homeland.

I do all "chore" type activities such as cleaning, because I know these things need to be done. But I find myself becoming very lazy and a "homebody" when normally I would rather be out doing something better.

I don't think it's depression, but I wonder if some type of anti-depressant drug might help give me some pep?

    It could be mild depression or any number of other things. It could also be you just "shifting gears" as you get older.
    Maybe try not thinking so much about what you're going to do and just go do it. Speaking as someone more screwed up then a cork screw , that often times works for me.
    If it's energy related, a diet adjustment may work. Also I've found that Yerba Matte tea (thank you Allen) also does a good job. It doesn't get you all hyper like caffeine but just makes you want to constantly do stuff

    An' I gotta ask ya - how many ways is it possible for you to 'find myself becoming'?

    Spread as a tagline to the world from the lips of the Dalai Lama, "I find myself becoming..." is kinda cool.

    We are given to transformation, otherwise all would be Same, insteada life an' death 'an shift 'an flux.

    So, hey - ur gonna rise tomorrow an' find yourself becomin'.

    It is in the script of stuff as yet unwritten.

    (Unless the noo Star Wars is a lie, an' we are all f*cked.)

    Flipped over, 'find myself becomin'' is a spectacularly positive combo.

    An' you said it first.

    Gotta tellya, there is no guarantee on tomorrow, inspitea what it says in the microwave manyools.

    Becomin' figures better in a mutable future than goin', but that is me, stoopidshooty as I am.

    Plus, findin' where you gone is called memory.

    Friday tomorrow for evryone.

    U gonna be there, found by virtue of bein' conscious I guess.

    So, what are you gonna become?

    Grammatically an' schematically, I proffer 'become' as an active verb here.

    I'd get a physical check up and look at diet and supplements.

    I wonder why you'd rather watch Homeland than skeet shoot.

    I would recommend talking to your doctor first. Perhaps even see a counsellor or psychologist. There are reasons that you possibly aren't aware of, let alone the ones you have considered.

    Good luck. I know that feeling very well and do have depression and take meds for it (as well as a bucket load of other meds.
