Are you allowed to promote your own blog in general categories

I saw a member promoting his own blog post.

Is that allowed ?

    No - and that's clearly in the rules.

    People try to do it - sometimes mods catch it - sometimes member mods report it and then the mods catch it.

    I've reported two like that today - don't remember which they were and I don't go back to see it they've been removed. See a lot of that recently in the bumping of old threads.

    When a mod sees it or a member reports the post, they disappear. If done too often, the poster disappears.
