A couple who is new to Florida got a house call one morning from an unofficial state rep.

That was the 8-foot-long crocodile that decided to greet them one morning from the steps of their swimming pool, America's Newsroom reported.

The new homeowners had just moved from Pennsylvania a few days ago.

This actually happens a lot down here. Not just crocodiles, but large Burmese and Reticulated pythons thrive in the southern part of the state.

There have been recent reports of a large black panther with cats and dogs popping up missing from people's back yards in my county, too.

They should jump on it's back & ride it around the pool.

Yeah, alligators often move relatively slowly and THEN, when the time is right, can be VERY fast, so I imagine it is easy to be misled. I don't think I would attempt trying to beat them at that game. Besides, one swish of that tail could cause a grown man to suddenly not be able to move very fast.

Sometimes it is AMAZING what some people don't know. I mean you move to a new area, like Flroida and don't know about such things? Even in a place like the US, there are places where you may NEVER see or hear something in the general area that you will have trouble avoiding in other places. So sometimes you have to do your homework before moving.

And HEY,you COULD gag the alligator and ride it! ALL you have to do is stay away from the tail, and don't let it bite you. OH, and the feet can be bad also..

I just dunno about the flip flops year round. Real Feel was 24 degrees today, and we got about 12 snowflakes this morning. Frickin icy. Got the stand up heater next to me with the central unit on 75. I'm a panzy.

You left out the best part, though - no emissions testing on cars.

      It was cool today.

I was sporting my hat and scarf, and socks in the flip flops.

Going to warm back up this week a bit.

I've worn flip flops with socks in even cooler weather up north. Just can't do it with any snow on the ground though as it's a slip and slideathon. And when it is really 30 out it's just too cold for that.

I can handle down to about 50 as the coolest (if I have to).

60 is about my limit. Jacket starts coming out at 59 lol. Heater turns on at 50.

Have you spent a summer in Florida, yet? Especially southern Florida? That may make you reconsider.

      I doubt it.

I am the person who hates air conditioning. I won't use it in the car unless I am sweating buckets - which does not happen easily as I'm always cold. Would rather open the car window and have hot air blowing on me.

      I prefer over 80 weather.

Was living the past 14 or so years with someone who was always too hot - he'd be out in that 50 degree weather today with shorts on no problem. And short sleeves of course.

Not sure how we tolerated each other for so long - just know I was always cold.

I agree that 50 is cool - but when you've had 30 below winters to compare it to it's nothing to get too upset about.

You'll be sweating buckets lol. Just sitting at a stoplight with the window down is miserable sometimes.

Between 10am and 5pm, the humidity from April and September gets pretty unfriendly.

I can't stand A/C either but there have been a few times I've had to turn it on just to keep the sweat off my brow.
