My Question About Cloud Services

Hi, guys. How's everyone? I will be needing your opinion about this. We have been aware about cloud computing. However, do we really have to know the best tools and practices to avail the best cloud security that we need? I heard that some of cloud services have their affiliations with a certain organization or becoming a member of this so called cloud security alliance. What is it all about?.I will appreciate to know any information from you here. Have a great day!

    Cloud is basically just an allusion to a concept that is about 40 years old! It used to be illustrated in diagrams as clouds, and I guess it stuck enough so when someone wanted to take credit and hype it up, they did.

    As for security, for the cloud itself, the company that seems to kind of have a lock on it is RSA, which is apparently now an EMC company, outside of the recognized C/As, of course.

    As for the CSA? Look at the executive members!

    ONE is a chinese "certification body". NEXT!
    One is a cable company! NEXT!
    Two are basically computer hardware companies. NEXT!
    One is a Computer application software company for large companies. NEXT!
    One is a company making consumer software that is NOT standard. NEXT!
    One is a computer storage company that now ALSO happens to own RSA(One of the corporate companies there)! YEP, EMC!

    And WHY? WHY this farce? OH, didn't I mention? ONE is a company that makes/provides "certification tests"!

    YEP, this is the latest way to make money in computers. Probably ALL of those companies are doing it!

    Hye Morna, CSA is a Not-for-profit organization that provides security assurance within cloud computing, and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing.
